Lester Ryan (hurler Born 1988)
Lester Ryan (born 1 May 1988) is an Irish Hurling, hurler who plays as a midfielder for the Kilkenny GAA, Kilkenny senior team. Born in Clara, County Kilkenny, Clara, County Kilkenny, Ryan first arrived on the inter-county scene when he first linked up with the Kilkenny under-21 team, before later joining the intermediate side. He joined the senior panel for the 2011 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, 2011 championship. Ryan has since become a regular member of the team and has won four All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, All-Ireland medals, four Leinster Senior Hurling Championship, Leinster medals and four National Hurling League medals. He captained the team to the All-Ireland title in 2014. He has also captained Kilkenny to Leinster (2014 and 2016) and National Hurling League (2014) successes. The Kilkenny County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (Kilkenny GAA) () is one of the 32 County board (Gaelic games), county boards of the GAA in Ireland and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Kilkenny. The county board has its head office and main grounds at Nowlan Park and is also responsible for Kilkenny county teams in all codes at all levels. The Kilkenny branch of the Gaelic Athletic Association was founded in 1887. In hurling, Kilkenny competes annually in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, which it has won 36 times (a national record), the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship, which it has won 73 times, and the National Hurling League, which it has won 19 times (a national record). The camogie team has won both the National Camogie League and the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship 15 times each.
