Leppävaara () is a district of Espoo, a city in Finland. The Rantarata rail line and the Ring Road I, the busiest road in Finland, cross in Leppävaara, thus making it a major traffic hub in the Greater Helsinki region. Leppävaara Railway Station
Leppävaara station (, ) is a railway station located in Leppävaara, a district of the city of Espoo in Finland. It is located about to the northwest of Helsinki Central. History Near the construction site of the Rantarata line was the financial building of the Alberga Manor. In 1905, the municipality of Espoo sought permission to build a railway stop in place of the manor, but this permission was denied. Sello
Sello ( Finnish for ''cello'') is a shopping mall in the Leppävaara, Espoo, Finland. The mall contains more than 170 shops and services including a concert hall and a library. The largest stores in the shopping center are Prisma, K-Citymarket, Power, Tokmanni, Halonen, H&M, and Intersport Megastore. The Sello is separated into three parts: the oldest part (finished in 2002), the second part (finished in 2005) and the newest part (finished in 2008). The oldest part of Sello has two hypermarkets, three banks, contains Espoo City's main library, a concert hall, gym, restaurants and cafes, pharmacy, an Alko and a music academy. The second part of Sello has many restaurants and smaller stores, and multiple sport stores such as Intersport and Stadium. Perkkaa (Swedish language, Swedish: ''Bergans'') is a neigbhourhood in the district of Leppävaara in Espoo, Finland. On New Year 2017 the population of the neighbourhood was 3836. The name of the neighbourhood comes from the Bergans farm that used to be located in the area. Rantarata
Rantarata (the Coastal Railway, Swedish: Kustbanan), is a railway running between Helsinki Central Station and Turku Central Station in Finland. Its first segment, linking Turku to Karis, was commissioned in 1895, and work began the following year. The Turku–Karis track was opened for temporary traffic on 1 April 1899 and for permanent use on 1 November 1899. The second part of the Rantarata, linking Karis to Helsinki, was approved in 1897 and opened for traffic in 1902–1903. The track was built to primarily serve commuter traffic and was therefore laid out with many curves and as few tunnels and expensive earthworks as possible. This resulted in a series of corrections and straightening of curves, a work which began in the 1910s and continued all the way to the 1990s. Krepost Sveaborg
The Krepost Sveaborg was an Russian Empire, Imperial Russian system of land and coastal defence and fortification, coastal fortifications constructed around Helsinki during the First World War. The purpose of the fortress was to provide a secure naval base for the Russian Baltic fleet and to protect Helsinki and block routes to Saint Petersburg from a possible Germany, German invasion. Krepost Sveaborg was part of Peter the Great's Naval Fortress, a coastal fortification system protecting access to Saint Petersburg by sea. The central part of Krepost Sveaborg was the old fortress of Sveaborg (known as ''Viapori'' in Finnish, and since 1918 as ''Suomenlinna'') where the fortress headquarters were located. Karakallio
Karakallio ( Finnish) or Karabacka ( Swedish) is a district of Espoo, a city in Finland. The name "Karabacka" dates back at least as far as 1762, at which time the language of majority of the inhabitants was Swedish, and when the name occurs in connection with the "Karabacka Meadow" and also the "Karabacka Mountain". The origins of the name are nevertheless unclear. The Finnish-language version of the name began to be used for an urban development in the 1950s when development of the area was first discussed and planned. The district is characterized by highrise apartment blocks and a 1960s style shopping centre. The Mormon temple was dedicated in 2006.
