Leopoldine Glöckel
Leopoldine Glöckel (12 November 1871, in Vienna – 21 May 1937, in Vienna) was an Austrian politician. She was one of the first women to become a member of the Municipal Council and Landtag of Vienna, City Council of Vienna. She was chairwoman of the Municipal Council and Landtag of Vienna, City Council Committee for Welfare spending, Welfare Institutions, Youth Welfare and Health Care. She married Otto Glöckel in 1897. Biography Leopoldine Glöckel, née Pfaffinger, was born the daughter of the director of the telephone and telegraph administration in Vienna, Joseph von Pfaffinger. After the early death of her mother, she grew up with her wealthy grandparents. She attended eight-year elementary school, then received private lessons and finally graduated from the teacher training college.
