Leontije Lambrović
Leontius (, ; 1801–23) was the Metropolitan of Belgrade between 1801 and 1813, during the Serbian Revolution. An ethnic Greek from Adrianople, Leontius was a disciple of Methodius, the Metropolitan of Belgrade between 1791 and 1801. Methodius was murdered, and some believe that Leontius was involved. Some also believe that he was involved in the murder of Vizier Hadži Mustafa Pasha, which resulted in the Sanjak of Smederevo being ruled by the renegade Janissaries known as the ''Dahije''. Leontius supported the Dahije, and had Serbian abbot Hadži-Ruvim captured by them upon hearing that a uprising was planned (see also Slaughter of the Knezes). After the Uprising against the Dahije broke out, Leontius worked to have the insurgents to give up and accept the Dahije. Metropolitan Of Belgrade
The Metropolitanate of Belgrade () was an Eastern Orthodox ecclesiastical province (metropolitanate) which existed between 1831 and 1920, with jurisdiction over the territory of Principality and Kingdom of Serbia. It was formed in 1831, when the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople granted church autonomy to its eparchies in the Principality of Serbia. Territorial enlargement and full canonical autocephaly were gained in 1879. The Metropolitanate existed until 1920, when it was merged with Patriarchate of Karlovci and other Serbian ecclesiastical provinces to form the united Serbian Orthodox Church. The seat of the Metropolitanate was in Belgrade, Serbia. The Metropolitanate and all of its eparchies suffered significant loses during World War I (1914–1918), particularly after 1915, during the occupation of Serbia by the Central Powers. Karađorđe
Đorđe Petrović (; ; – ), known by the sobriquet Karađorđe (; ), was a Serbian revolutionary leader who led a struggle against the Ottoman Empire during the First Serbian Uprising. He held the title of Grand Vožd of Serbia from 14 February 1804 to 3 October 1813. Born into an impoverished family in the Šumadija region of Ottoman Serbia, Karađorđe distinguished himself during the Austro-Turkish War of 1788–1791 as a member of the Serbian Free Corps, a militia of Habsburg and Ottoman Serbs, armed and trained by the Austrians. Fearing retribution following the Austrians' and Serb rebels' defeat in 1791, he and his family fled to the Austrian Empire, where they lived until 1794, when a general amnesty was declared. Karađorđe subsequently returned to Šumadija and became a livestock merchant. The term "the people" refers to the public or Common people, common mass of people of a polity. As such it is a concept of human rights law, international law as well as constitutional law, particularly used for claims of popular sovereignty. In contrast, a people is any plurality of Person, persons considered as a whole. Used in politics and law, the term "a people" refers to the collective or community of an ethnic group or nation.
