Lennart Pettersson (pentathlete)
Brigadier General Ingvar ''Lennart'' Pettersson (born 1 February 1951) is a retired Swedish Air Force officer and former modern pentathlete. He competed at the 1980 Summer Olympics, winning a bronze medal in the team event. Early life Pettersson was born on 1 February 1951 in Uppsala, Sweden, the son of Ingvar Pettersson and his wife May (née Svanberg). He grew up in Knivsta in Uppland. During his school days, Pettersson got the opportunity to do a work life orientation at Uppland Wing (F 16) in Uppsala after the father of one of his friends worked at the wing and arranged a place for him. Pettersson was good at most sports, but his physical education teacher encouraged him to focus on modern pentathlon. Thanks to the modern pentathlon, Pettersson started riding as a 14-year-old. Swedish Air Force Flying School
Swedish Air Force Flying School (), also F 5 Ljungbyhed, or simply F 5, is a former Swedish Air Force training wing with the main base located in Ljungbyhed in southern Sweden. History The moor at Ljungby was adopted for military use in 1658 by the Skånska husarregementet, Scanian Hussar Regiment as a training ground. In 1910, the first flights were commenced from the grounds. Enoch Thulin set up a public flying school on June 16, 1915. In 1926, the newly formed Swedish Air Force set up their flying school at Ljungbyhed. Between 1983 and 1996 the Air Force school of meteorology was also located at Ljungbyhed. In 1996, F 5 Ljungbyhed was decommissioned and the pilot training was taken over by the Scania Wing (F 10). Air Staff (, FS) is the staff of the Chief of the Swedish Air Force. It was officially established in 1936 due to the Defence Act of 1936 and would handle matters of a general nature. The Air Staff's duties included, among other things, assisting the Chief of the Air Force with the leadership of the Air Force's mobilization, training, tactics, organization, equipment, and personnel to the extent that such activity was not directly related to operational activities, which the Defence Staff then handled. Laryngeal cancer is a kind of cancer that can develop in any part of the larynx (voice box). It is typically a squamous-cell carcinoma, reflecting its origin from the epithelium of the larynx. Bråvalla Wing (), also F 13 Norrköping, or simply F 13, is a former Swedish Air Force wing with the main base located near Norrköping in south-eastern Sweden. History The Air Wing was established in 1943 as the fourth fighter wing, and the thirteenth wing in total, in the Swedish Air Force. The location had been mapped out in 1941 and consisted of purchased land from ''Sörby'', ''Knivberga'' and ''Ringstad'' farmsteads. In 1942, preparation work on the almost square 1000 m by 1000 m grass air field was started and completed in September 1943. The main administration was housed inside Norrköping main hotel until the first office buildings were completed in 1945.
