Lenka Dusilová
Lenka Dusilová (born 28 December 1975) is a Czech singer-songwriter and multiple-Anděl Awards, Anděl Award winner. Career Early years: 1988–2000 Dusilová began her career in 1988, joining the Bambini di Praga children's choir at age thirteen after singing in the family band RSP with her mother and brother. RSP played folk music set to Czech and Polish poetry. During the 1990s, Dusilová was a full and guest member of several groups. Between 1991 and 1995, she led the rock band Sluníčko, which released an eponymous album in 1994, won the Marlboro Rock '94 competition, and opened the Open Air Gampell music festival in Switzerland. That year, Dusilová was nominated for the Discovery of the Year Anděl Award. Between 1994 and 1997, the artist was a guest member of the rock band Lucie (band), Lucie. Karlovy Vary
Karlovy Vary (; , formerly also spelled ''Carlsbad'' in English) is a spa town, spa city in the Karlovy Vary Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 49,000 inhabitants. It is located at the confluence of the Ohře and Teplá (river), Teplá rivers. Karlovy Vary is named after Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor and the King of Bohemia, who founded the city in the 14th century. The site of numerous hot springs, the city grew into a spa resort in the 19th century and was a popular destination for the European aristocracy and other luminaries. Karlovy Vary's rapid growth was brought to an end by the outbreak of World War I. After the Velvet Revolution in 1989, Karlovy Vary once again became a major tourist destination. Wohnout
Wohnout is a Czech alternative rock band formed in Prague in 1988. The group comprises guitarists/vocalists Matěj Homola and Jan Homola, bassist Jiří Zeman and drummer Zdeněk Steiner. Wohnout is among the most popular bands in the Czech Republic and released nine studio albums since formation. History Wohnout was formed in Prague in 1988, one year prior to the Velvet Revolution. The lineup consisted of brothers Matěj Homola and Jan Homola, both on guitars and vocals, along with a bassist and a drummer. In 1990, however, Wohnout disbanded. Brothers Homola reformed in 1995 with new bassist Jiří Zeman and a new drummer Zdeněk Steiner. Their first show was in 1996, and their debut album, ''Cundalla'', was recorded in 1998 and released in 1999 by Sony Music/Bonton. Wohnout's popularity started to rise after the release of 2001's ''Zlý Noty Na Večeři''. This album hinted their typical melodic rock style. Daniel Landa
Daniel Landa (born 4 November 1968) is a Czech musician, actor, car racer, and amateur muay thai fighter. Born in Prague, Landa graduated with honours from Prague Conservatory, having studied music and drama. He began his musical career in 1988 when he, along with David Matásek, founded the oi! band Orlík, with whom he released two albums. Orlík has been criticized for its racist overtones, targeting specifically the Gypsy minority in the Czech Republic. In 1993, he began recording as a solo artist, and has since released numerous albums. He has also composed music for films and written several musicals. His material often deals with patriotic and political themes. Miroslav Žbirka
Miroslav "Miro" Žbirka (21 October 1952 – 10 November 2021) was a Slovak pop and rock singer and songwriter, widely popular in 1980s Czechoslovakia. Born in Bratislava to a Slovak father and an English mother, he sang in Slovak, English, and Czech. He sometimes recorded in London, but lived in Slovakia and since early 1990s in Prague, Czech Republic, where he died. In the late 1970s, Žbirka co-founded two Czechoslovak pop music bands, Modus and Limit. In 1982, he rose to fame by winning the annual Zlatý slavík award for the best male singer in Czechoslovakia. After the 1992 division of Czechoslovakia, he repeated this achievement in the Slovak annual Slávik Awards, coming number one in the annual end of year charts in 2002, 2004 and 2005.
