Leif Sevón
Leif Jörgen Arvidsson Sevón (born 31 October 1941) is a Finland-Swedish jurist and judge. Biography Sevón holds a Licentiate in Laws degree from the University of Helsinki. His positions include a directorate at the Ministry of Justice, the presidency of the EFTA Court, a seat in the European Court of Justice, and an advisory position at the Ministry of Foreign Affair's Trade Directorate. He left the European Court in 2002 after his appointment as President of the Supreme Court of Finland. In 2005 he retired from the presidency of the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court of Finland ( , abbreviated as ''KKO''; , abbreviated as ''HD''), located in Helsinki, is the court of last resort for cases within the private law of Finland (that is, civil and criminal cases). Pauliine Koskelo
Pauliine Koskelo (née Järvelä, born 22 June 1956) was appointed President of the Supreme Court of Finland in 2005. On 21 April 2015 she was elected as a judge to the European Court of Human Rights by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Education Koskelo is a graduate of the University of Helsinki Law Faculty, and Dr. iur. h.c. of that university. Early career Koskelo served at the Ministry of Justice in various areas of legislative work and international co-operation, including questions of European Union law. The European Court of Justice (ECJ), officially the Court of Justice (), is the supreme court of the European Union in matters of European Union law. As a part of the Court of Justice of the European Union, it is tasked with interpreting EU law and ensuring its uniform application across all EU member states under Article 263 of the Treaty of the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU).
