Ari Staprans Leff (born August 8, 1994), known professionally as Lauv (), is an American musician best known for his breakout hit "I Like Me Better"; included on his compilation album ''I Met You When I Was 18 (The Playlist)'', which was released in 2018. His debut album, ''How I'm Feeling'', was released on March 6, 2020, and debuted at number 16 on the US ''Billboard'' 200. Lauv has also written songs for other artists such as "Boys" by Charli XCX and " No Promises" by Cheat Codes and Demi Lovato. Early life Leff was born in San Francisco, California. Arthur Allen Leff
Arthur Allen Leff (1935–1981) was a professor of law at Yale Law School who is best known for a series of articles examining whether there is such a thing as a normative law or morality. Leff answered this question in the negative and followed the consequences to their logical conclusions. He graduated from Amherst College and Harvard Law School and also taught at the Washington University School of Law. Leff's first major work, ''Economic Analysis of the Law: Some Realism About Nominalism'', was putatively a book review of Richard Posner's ''Economic Analysis of the Law''. In actuality it is a critique of the use of any single methodology to provide normative rules for law and morality. The article is still, today, a leading critique of Posner's work and economic analysis generally and is usually read in graduate seminars on Economic Analysis (though sometimes misidentified as a Legal Realist critique). Enrique Leff (born 1946) is a Mexican economist, environmental sociologist and environmentalist. He has written 25 books and 180 articles on political ecology, environmental sociology, environmental economics, environmental epistemology and environmental education. ''Buried by the Times'' is a 2005 book by Laurel Leff. The book is a critical account of ''The New York Times''s coverage of Nazi atrocities against Jews that culminated in the Holocaust. It argues that the news was often buried in the back pages in part due to the view about Judaism of the paper's Jewish publisher, Arthur Hays Sulzberger. It also gives a critical look at the work of ''Times'' correspondents in Europe. The book received critical acclaim and was the recipient of the best media history book from the American Journalism Historians Association. Michael Leff (1941–2010) was an internationally known U.S. scholar of rhetoric. He was a Professor and served as Chair of the Department of Communications Studies at the University of Memphis. Career Before teaching at the University of Memphis he held faculty positions at The University of California-Davis, Indiana University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Northwestern University. Pinky Lee (May 2, 1907 – April 3, 1993) was an American actor of stage, screen, radio, and television. He is best known as a children's-TV personality of the 1950s. Biography Born Pincus Leff in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Lee began his career as Pincus Leff with showman Gus Edwards (vaudevillian), Gus Edwards in vaudeville. In January 1925, he was hired by Betty Felsen to be a dancer in the acclaimed Boderick & Felsen vaudeville dancing act. Pincus Leff soon became a featured tap dancer in the act and was often mentioned in advertisements, notices, and reviews. He was part of the act throughout 1925 during its headline tour on the B.F. Keith vaudeville circuit throughout the Mid-West and East. In early 1926, he left the act to pursue his career on stage and in film and television.
