Busan IPark
Busan IPark ( ko, 부산 아이파크) is a South Korean professional football club based in Busan that competes in K League 2, the second tier of the South Korean football pyramid. Its current home ground is Busan Gudeok Stadium. The club was one of the original five founding members of the K League and continuously competed in the first division from 1983 to 2015, when they were relegated for the first time. Initially, the club was called Daewoo Royals, in reference to the motor company that originally owned and financed it. Since the mid-1990s, Busan has actually received financial backing from the HDC Group and its apartment brand IPARK, rebranding as Busan i.cons, and then as Busan IPark in the process. The K League 1 (Hangul: K리그1) is the men's top professional football division of the South Korean football league system. The league is contested by twelve clubs. History The South Korean professional football league was founded in 1983 as the "Korean Super League", with five member clubs. The initial five clubs were Hallelujah FC, Yukong Elephants, Pohang Steelworks, Daewoo Royals, Kookmin Bank. Hallelujah FC won the inaugural title, finishing one point ahead of Daewoo Royals to lift the crown. The Super League was renamed the "Korean Professional Football League", and introduced the home and away system in 1987. It was once again renamed the "K League" in 1998. 2023 K4 League
The 2023 K4 League is the third season of the K4 League as a semi-professional league and the fourth tier of South Korean football league system. The regular season is from 25 February to 11 November 2023. Goyang KH FC is the defending champions and was promoted together with Yangpyeong FC (the runner-up) and Chuncheon Citizen (play-off winner) to 2023 K3 League. Dangjin Citizen were relegated from 2022 K3 League via K3-K4 League Relegation play-off and will play in the K4 League after one season. Competition format The 2022 K4 League is contested by 17 teams, with no relegation system in place. Each team competes home and away, playing 32 games. The top two teams get promoted to the K3 League, while the third and the fourth placed teams qualify for the promotion play-off. The K4 League is the fourth tier of the South Korean football league system. After 2019, the semi-professional Korea National League and the former amateur K3 League were rebranded into the current K3 League and K4 League. Competition format The promotion and relegation system exists between the K3 League and the K4 League, both being semi-professional leagues. However, since the 2021 season, teams from professional leagues K League 1 and K League 2 were allowed to create reserve teams set to play in the K4 League, in order to give academy players and/or other registered players more game time. 2021 K League 2
The 2021 K League 2 was the ninth season of the K League 2, the second-tier South Korean professional league for association football clubs since its establishment in 2013, and the fourth one with its current name, the K League 2. The top-ranked team and the winner of the promotion-relegation play-off got promoted to the 2022 K League 1. On 21 January 2021, the Korean Professional Football Union confirmed that the 2021 season of K League 2 would begin on 27 February with 36 regular season matches per team.
