Layton, Florida
Layton is a city located on the island of Long Key in Monroe County, Florida, Monroe County, Florida, United States. The city is part of the Florida Keys. The population was 210 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. History In the late 19th century, Long Key was used as a coconut plantation. By 1910, Layton was becoming famous as a fishing destination, thanks in part to promotion by sportswriter, Zane Grey. However, the developing tourist infrastructure on Long Key, including a station on the Overseas Railroad, was largely destroyed by the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935. After World War II, Mary V. Layton (1907-1993) and Delbert “Del” Layton (1906-1987), who ran a grocery business in Miami, bought on Long Key and started developing the property as "Layton's Long Key Fishing Camp", which grew substantially over the succeeding years. Layton Bridge
The Layton Bridge is a Pratt truss bridge over the Youghiogheny River in Layton, Pennsylvania. Originally built for the Washington Run Railroad, construction began 1893 and was completed in 1899. The last train crossed in 1931. The bridge and a tunnel immediately to its south were converted to a single automobile lane in 1933 as part of a road that connects Layton with Perryopolis, near the suspected location of the eighteenth-century Spark's Fort. The bridge has not been painted in recent years and its members are now corroded. Professor Hershel Layton
is the eponymous main protagonist of the ''Professor Layton'' series, created by Level-5, in which he and his apprentice Luke Triton investigate mysteries while solving various brain teasers. He also appears in an animated movie, '' Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva'', and has featured in manga and novels that have not been released in English. His birth name was revealed to be Theodore Bronev in '' Azran Legacy''. Professor Layton is based on the idea of an English gentleman, and is a professor of archaeology at the fictional Gressenheller University in London. He was designed by Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino, who used Sherlock Holmes, Indiana Jones and fellow video game character Phoenix Wright as inspiration for his creation. Layton Station (FrontRunner)
Layton Station is a FrontRunner commuter rail station in Layton, Utah. It is operated by the Utah Transit Authority (UTA). Description The station is located at 150 South Main Street ( SR-126) on approximately 12.5 acres of land and is easily accessed from I-15 by way of the new Layton Parkway interchange. The station is near the south end of Layton's historic downtown area, which had suffered from a hard-to-access location in a highly acute wedge bounded by I-15 on the northeast and the railroad tracks on the southwest. Besides the station's opening on the site of the previous Union Pacific Layton Depot, access in the area has also recently been improved (both from I-15 and from surrounding parts of Layton) by the completion of the new Layton Parkway interchange on I-15, which is just south of the station.
