Laurențiu Constantin
Laurențiu Constantin (born 12 July 1963 in Constanța) is a former Romanian rugby union player. He played as lock. Career Grown in the RCJ Farul Constanța youth team, along with his younger brother Ștefan Constantin, Ștefan he formed a lock combination that was the backbone of the club and of the Romania national team throughout the decade, winning the national title with Farul in 1986. He was also part of the Steaua squad, with which he won 5 national championship titles in 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986 and 1987. His international debut was on 1983, during the 1983-84 FIRA Trophy, FIRA Trophy in Bucharest, against Soviet Union national rugby union team, Soviet Union and he was also called up for the Romania squad at the 1987 Rugby World Cup, where he played the three matches. His last international cap was against France national rugby union team, France, in Bucharest, on 22 June 1991. Ștefan Constantin
Ștefan Constantin (born 25 June 1959 in Constanța) is a former Romanian rugby union player. He played as lock. Career Grown in the RCJ Farul Constanța youth team, along with his older brother Laurențiu Constantin, Laurențiu he formed a lock combination that was the backbone of the club and of the Romania national team throughout the decade, winning the national title with Farul in 1986. His international debut was on 1980, during the 1979-80 FIRA Trophy, FIRA Trophy in Constanța, during a 41–11 victory against Morocco national rugby union team, Morocco and he was also called up for the Romania squad at the 1987 Rugby World Cup, where he played the last of his 18 international matches. After his stint in Romania, he accepted Gheorghe Dumitru's proposal to play for USA Limoges, where Constantin played in the early 1990s. RCJ Farul Constanța
Rugby Club Județean Farul Constanța () was a semi-professional Romanian rugby union club from Constanța, which played continuously from 1970 until 2014 in the CEC Bank SuperLiga, the first division of Romanian rugby. The team withdrew from the Romanian top-tier competition before the 2015 edition and ultimately disbanded. The team was named for the city's famous Genoese Lighthouse. Farul Constanța was recognized by many Romanian fans as one of the best Romanian clubs outside Bucureşti as not only did they achieve consistent results by finishing within the top 4 in the SuperLiga almost every year, they were also the first and only Romanian team to play in the then known Heineken Cup (known as the European Rugby Champions Cup now), during its inaugural season in 1995–96, notably playing in the first ever match of the Heineken Cup against Stade Toulousain in Constanța. The 1987 Rugby World Cup was the first Rugby World Cup. It was co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia – New Zealand hosted 21 matches (17 pool stage matches, two semi-finals, the third-place play-off and the final) while Australia hosted 11 matches (seven pool matches, two quarter-finals and both semi-finals).
