Laura Loomer
Laura Elizabeth Loomer (born May 21, 1993) is an American far-right political activist, conspiracy theorist, and internet personality. She was the Republican nominee to represent Florida's 21st congressional district in the 2020 United States House of Representatives elections, losing to Democrat Lois Frankel. She also ran in the Republican primary for Florida's 11th congressional district in 2022, losing to incumbent Daniel Webster. Loomer has worked as an activist for several organizations, including Project Veritas, the '' Geller Report'', '' Rebel News,'' and '' InfoWars''. She has described herself as being "pro- white nationalist" and a "proud Islamophobe", repeatedly making anti-Muslim statements in public settings. Project Veritas
Project Veritas is an American far-right activist group founded by James O'Keefe in 2010. The group produced deceptively edited videos of its undercover operations, which use secret recordings in an effort to discredit mainstream media organizations and progressive groups. Project Veritas also used entrapment to generate bad publicity for its targets, and propagated disinformation and conspiracy theories in its videos and operations. Project Veritas's targets included Planned Parenthood, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), NPR, CNN, and ''The Washington Post''. Florida's 11th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Florida. It includes Sumter County, home to The Villages, and parts of Lake, Orange, and Polk counties. In the 2020 redistricting cycle, the district was moved out of its coastal counties and into Orlando's western suburbs. From 1993 to 2013, the former 11th district had encompassed most of the city of Tampa and its suburbs and the shoreline of southeastern Hillsborough County. It also included two areas in other counties: urban neighborhoods of south St. Petersburg in Pinellas County and neighborhoods in and around Bradenton in Manatee County.
