Las Pavas
The Las Pavas, also called La Pava (Spanish: ''Mina La(s) Pava(s)''),Giuliani et al., 1995, p.154 is a Colombian emerald mining area that is neighboring Colombia's largest emerald mine, Puerto Arturo. It is located northwest of the capital Bogotá in the western emerald belt of Muzo, and about west of Chivor, which is in the eastern emerald belt. The mining area spans the municipalities Quípama and Muzo. History Colombia holds the world's largest resources of Class 1 emeralds, following that are Zambia's and Brazil's Class 3 emeralds. The Muzo emerald deposits are situated in the western foothills of the Eastern Ranges of the Colombian Andes. Somondoco
Somondoco is a town and municipality in the Colombian Department of Boyacá. This town and larger municipal area are located in the Valle de Tenza. The Valle de Tenza is the ancient route connecting the Altiplano Cundiboyacense and the Llanos. The area is dotted with many such little towns all located at approximately the same altitude (1500–1700 meters). Somondoco borders Almeida in the east, Guayatá in the west, Guateque and Sutatenza in the north and in the south the Cundinamarca municipality of Ubalá. The nearest larger town is Guateque which is about 30 minutes away by car. In Somondoco are several small companies producing handicrafts and collectables. Etymology Somondoco is derived from the Chibcha words ''So'' = stone, ''Mon'' = bath, ''Co'' = support. The village is named after ''cacique Somendoco'' or ''Sumindoco''.

Rosablanca Formation
The Rosablanca Formation (, Kir) is a geological formation of the Altiplano Cundiboyacense, Eastern Ranges of the Colombian Andes and the Middle Magdalena Basin. The formation consists of grey limestones, dolomites and shales with at the upper part sandstones.
