Lars Hugo Elvstrøm (born 18 August 1949) is a former tennis player from Denmark. Career Elvstrøm was a regular member of the Danish Davis Cup team for 1973 to 1980 and played a total of 29 matches in 9 ties for his country. His best result on the ATP Tour was winning the singles title at the Copenhagen Open, in 1976, beating Jean-François Caujolle in the final. The Copenhagen Open was a men's indoor tennis tournament held in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was first held in February 1973 as part of the WCT Circuit and featured renowned players such as Ken Rosewall, Fred Stolle, Arthur Ashe and Tom Okker. It was played indoors on a carpet surface. The tournament was not held the following two years but returned on the calendar in 1976 without any of the first-tier players. After 1976 the tournament was discontinued. It was re-introduced in 1991 as part of the ATP Tour and was halted again in 2003. The only player to win the Copenhagen Open more than once was Magnus Gustafsson Magnus Nils Gustafsson (born 3 January 1967) is a tennis coach and former top ten professional tennis player from Sweden. Jean-François Caujolle (; born 3 March 1952) is a former professional tennis player from France. He reached a career-high ranking of No. 59 in singles on 31 September 1977. Caujolle retired from tennis in 1981 and became a coach in a Marseille tennis camp. In 1993, he created the ATP International Series Open 13 in Marseille, and became co-director, alongside Cédric Pioline, of the BNP Paribas Masters tournament of Paris in 2007.
