Lande is a borough in Østfold county, Norway, located close to the lake Tunevannet and east of European route E6, E6, which is the national highway going through Sarpsborg. History Lande comes out of the Old Norse name Landir; and it means "lands". Østfold
Østfold () is a county in Eastern Norway, which from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2023 was part of Viken. Østfold borders Akershus and southwestern Sweden (Västra Götaland County and Värmland), while Buskerud and Vestfold are on the other side of Oslofjord. The county's administrative seat is Sarpsborg. The county controversially became part of the newly established Viken County on 1 January 2020. On 1 January 2024, Østfold was re-established as an independent county, however without the former municipality of Rømskog, which was amalgamated with the Akershus municipality Aurskog-Høland in 2020. Many manufacturing facilities are situated here, such as the world's most advanced biorefinery, Borregaard in Sarpsborg. Fredrikstad has shipyards. European Route E6
European route E6 (, , or simply E6) is the main north–south thoroughfare through Norway as well as the west coast of Sweden. It is long and runs from the southern tip of Sweden at Trelleborg, into Norway and through almost all of the country north to the Arctic Circle and Nordkapp. The route ends in Kirkenes close to the Russian border. Route From south to north, the E6 runs through Trelleborg, Malmö, Helsingborg, Halmstad, Gothenburg, Svinesund in Sweden, before crossing the border at the Svinesund Bridge into Norway. It then passes Halden, Sarpsborg, Moss, Vestby to the capital Oslo. North of this, it passes by Gardermoen, Hamar, Lillehammer, Dombås, Oppdal, Melhus to Trondheim. Sarpsborg ( or ), historically Borg, is a List of cities in Norway, city and Municipalities of Norway, municipality in Østfold Counties of Norway, county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Sarpsborg. Sarpsborg is part of the fifth List of continuously built-up areas in Norway by population, largest urban area in Norway when paired with neighbouring Fredrikstad. Nils Ole Oftebro (born 1 December 1944) is a Norwegian actor and illustrator. He was born in Sarpsborg. He worked for Fjernsynsteatret from 1969 to 1971. From 1971 he was assigned to Nationaltheatret. He was artistical director at Torshovteatret from 1987 to 1989. He received the Amanda Award for "Best Actor" in 1986, for his role in the television production ''Du kan da ikke bare gå'', and in 1998 for "Best Supporting Role" in '' Thranes metode''. Among his films are '' Du Pappa'', '' Dagny'' and '' Blood of the Railroad Workers''. His dubbing work includes Jafar in ''Aladdin'', the Grand Duke of Owls in ''Rock-a-Doodle'', Tim Lockwood in ''Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs'' and Stinky Pete the Prospector in ''Toy Story 2''.
