A civil township is a widely used unit of local government in the United States that is subordinate to a county, most often in the northern and midwestern parts of the country. Indiana State Road 124
State Road 124 (SR 124) is an east–west state road in the U.S. state of Indiana. The highway runs from SR 19 in Peru east through Bluffton and Monroe to end at Ohio State Route 81 near Willshire, Ohio. SR 124 runs through mostly agricultural land and near a few state parks through Northern Indiana. SR 124 was first designated as a state road in 1932 along a segment of its current route. It was extended west to the Miami–Wabash county line by the late 1930s and to Peru by the early 1950s. The entire route was paved in the early 1960s to the mid 1960s. A reroute in the 2000s bypassed the west side of Bluffton. Route description SR 124 starts in Peru at the corner of Broadway (SR 19) and Riverside Drive. State Road 37 (SR 37) is a major route in the U.S. state of Indiana, running as a four-lane divided highway for 110 miles of its course. At one time, the route ran from the southwest corner of the state to the northeast corner. In the pre-Interstate Highway era, Indiana 37 was the most direct route between Fort Wayne and Indianapolis. Interstate 69 has supplanted it as a through route, and State Road 37 now consists of two disconnected segments. The longer segment starts at Tell City on the Ohio River and ends in Marion in north central Indiana.
