Lamoille-4 Vermont Representative District, 2002–2012
The Lamoille-4 Representative District is a one-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 United States census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 United States census. The Lamoille-4 District includes all of the Lamoille County towns of Belvidere, Cambridge, and Waterville. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). Cambridge is a New England town, town in Lamoille County, Vermont, Lamoille County, Vermont, United States. The population was 3,839 at the 2020 United States Census. Geography Waterville is in northwestern Lamoille County, in the valley of the North Branch of the Lamoille River. The town is bordered to the west by Franklin County. Belvidere is a town in Lamoille County, Vermont, United States. The population was 358 at the 2020 census. Belvidere contains the hamlets of Belvidere Center, Belvidere Corners and Belvidere Junction. In 1963, part of Averys Gore in Franklin County became part of Belvidere, while the other part became part of Montgomery. Geography Belvidere is the northernmost town in Lamoille County and is bordered by Franklin County to the north. Lamoille County, Vermont
Lamoille County () is a county located in the U.S. state of Vermont. As of the 2020 census, the population was 25,945, and it is the third-least populous county in Vermont. Its shire town (county seat) is the town of Hyde Park, while Morristown is the county's largest town by population as well as its main commercial center. The county was created in 1835 from portions of Orleans, Franklin, Washington, and Chittenden Counties and organized the following year. History The area was buried in a mile of ice during the Ice Age. As the ice melted, Lake Stowe was formed. When the ice melted completely, the water from the lake ran out through the Lamoille River valley.
