Lake Sääksi
Lake Sääksi (, or just simply ''Sääksi'') is a 260-hectare large lake in Uusimaa, Finland. It is located on the border between the municipalities of Nurmijärvi and Hyvinkää, on the ridge formation called Salpausselkä. The villages of Röykkä and Kiljava is located near Lake Sääksi. Lake Sääksi is a groundwater lake without a drainage ditch, and its water changes through the soil. The lake is very even in depth and the deepest part of the lake is about eight meters deep. The water in the lake is very clean, and the lake has a good oxygen situation. Alkalinity, which indicates the buffering capacity of lake water, is very low. Lake Sääksi is one of Finland's largest spring-based lakes. The approximately 800-meter-long Sääksi Beach is popular especially among the residents of Nurmijärvi and Hyvinkää, but it also attracts visitors from other parts of Uusimaa. A spring is a natural exit point at which groundwater emerges from an aquifer and flows across the ground surface as surface water. It is a component of the hydrosphere, as well as a part of the water cycle. Valkjärvi (lake)
Valkjärvi is a lake located in the Nurmijärvi municipality in Southern Finland. It is an island-free lake in the immediate vicinity of Klaukkala's urban area. The water flows from the lake along the Luhtajoki River all the way to the Vantaa River. Lake Tuusula
Lake Tuusula or Lake Tuusulanjärvi (; ) is a lake on the border of the municipalities of Tuusula and Järvenpää in Southern Finland. The lake has an area of 6.0 square kilometres. Since the beginning of the twentieth century the shores of Lake Tuusula has been an artist's colony. The houses of Aino and Jean Sibelius, Juhani Aho, Pekka Halonen, Eero Järnefelt, Joonas Kokkonen and Aleksis Kivi are on the edges of the lake. The Lake Tuusulanjärvi Water Protection Association has taken action to save the lake from eutrophication effects since the early 1970s. Apart from wintertime water aeration and cyprinid fish removal, some additional water is being fed into the Lake via the long Päijänne Water Tunnel. Hiidenvesi (; ) is the second largest lake in the Uusimaa region in Finland. The biggest part of the lake is located in the municipality of Vihti and smaller parts in the town of Lohja. The lake drains through the Väänteenjoki River into lake Lohjanjärvi. Aleksis Kivi
Aleksis Kivi (; born Alexis Stenvall; 10 October 1834 – 31 December 1872) was a Finnish writer who wrote the first significant novel in the Finnish language, '' Seitsemän veljestä'' (''Seven Brothers''), published in 1870. He is also known for his 1864 play, '' Nummisuutarit'' (''Heath Cobblers''). Although Kivi was among the very earliest writers of prose and lyrics in Finnish, he is still considered one of the greatest. Kivi is regarded as the national writer of Finland and his birthday, 10 October, is celebrated as Finnish Literature Day.
