Lage Andréasson
Lage Roland Andréasson (15 September 1930 – 25 March 2023) was a Swedish trade union leader. Andréasson served as the president of the Swedish Food Workers' Union (Livs) from 1979 until 1991, and as president of the International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco and Allied Workers' Associations from 1989 until 1993. After retiring, he wrote a book on the history of Livs. From 1996 until 2004, he served as president of the Swedish National Pensioners' Organisation. In 2004, he was awarded the Illis quorum ''Illis quorum'' (''Illis quorum meruere labores'') (English: "For Those Whose Labors Have Deserved It") is a gold medal awarded for outstanding contributions to Swedish culture, science or society. The Swedish Food Workers' Union (, Livs) is a trade union representing workers in the food and drink industries in Sweden. The union was founded on 1 January 1922, when the Swedish Bakery and Confectionery Workers' Union merged with the Swedish Butchers' Union. Swedish National Pensioners' Organisation
The Swedish National Pensioners' Organisation (, ''PRO'') is an advocacy group in Sweden representing pensioners. It's the largest pensioners' organisation in Sweden with 399,303 members as of 31 December 2006. PRO describes itself as "politically independent" but has since its founding had close ties to the Swedish Social Democratic labour movement. The current chairman is Lars Wettergren, a former Social Democratic politician. PRO was founded on 1 March 1942. PRO deliberates with the Swedish government in the government's pensioners' committee and in meetings with the Prime Minister, calls on parliament's committee, participates in state investigations, acts as a referral body and participates in the local authorities', county councils' and regions' pensioners' boards. ''Illis quorum'' (''Illis quorum meruere labores'') (English: "For Those Whose Labors Have Deserved It") is a gold medal awarded for outstanding contributions to Swedish culture, science or society. The award was introduced in 1784 by King Gustav III, and was first awarded in 1785. Prior to 1975, the medal was awarded by the King of Sweden. Illis quorum is now awarded by the Government of Sweden, and it is currently the highest award that can be conferred upon an individual Swedish citizen by the Government. It is awarded, on average, to seven people per year. Günter Döding
Günter Friedrich Wilhelm Döding (4 September 1930 – 8 August 2005) was a German trade union leader. Born in Isenstedt, Döding worked as a coal miner before becoming a cigar sorter. He joined the Food, Beverages and Catering Union (NGG), and soon began working for it full-time in Wuppertal. In 1956, he joined the union's national executive as youth secretary, and was given charge of the NGG's tobacco sector. In 1966, Döding became vice president of the NGG, then in 1978 was elected as its president.
