Lafayette Parish
Lafayette Parish () is a parish located in the U.S. state of Louisiana. According to the 2020 U.S. census, the parish had a population of 241,753, up from 221,578 at the 2010 United States census. The parish seat and largest city is Lafayette. The parish was founded in 1823. Since 1996, the city and parish have operated as a consolidated government. Etymology The city and parish of Lafayette were named in honor of the Marquis de Lafayette, the French general who took part in the Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War and financially aided it. Geography Lafayette Parish is a part of the region of Acadiana in southern Louisiana, along the Gulf Coast. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the parish has a total area of , of which is land and (0.2%) is water. It is the fifth-smallest parish in Louisiana by land area and third-smallest by total area. I-10
Interstate 10 (I-10) is the southernmost transcontinental highway in the Interstate Highway System of the United States. It is the fourth-longest Interstate in the country at , following I-90, I-80, and I-40. It was part of the originally planned Interstate Highway network that was laid out in 1956, and its last section was completed in 1990. Louisiana Highway 93
Louisiana Highway 93 (LA 93) is a state highway located in southern Louisiana. It runs in a southwest to northeast direction from US 90 in Scott to LA 31 in Arnaudville. The majority of the route travels north–south, connecting the small city of Scott with the twin towns of Sunset and Grand Coteau. It then follows an east–west path between Grand Coteau and Arnaudville, located on Bayou Teche. The north–south directional banners are generally absent from the highway's signage over this latter portion. Over the course of its route, LA 93 crosses two Interstate Highways and two U.S. Highways: I-10 and US 90 in Scott and the concurrent I-49/ US 167 in Grand Coteau. Louisiana Highway 92 (LA 92) is a state highway located in southern Louisiana. It runs in an east–west direction from U.S. Highway 90 (US 90) east of Mermentau to LA 339 in Youngsville. The route passes through several small villages and unincorporated communities, such as Morse, Indian Bayou, Maurice, and Milton. It traverses the rural area between the parallel US 90 and LA 14 corridors. Louisiana Highway 89 (LA 89) is a state highway located in southern Louisiana. It runs in a north–south direction from LA 14 in Delcambre to an intersection with Church Street in Youngsville. The highway parallels the Vermilion–Iberia parish line from Delcambre, a small town partially located in both parishes, to a junction with LA 88 at Lozes. LA 89 then makes a turn into Lafayette Parish and proceeds to Youngsville, a small city and growing bedroom community of nearby Lafayette. Along its route, the highway passes through a mixture of sugar cane fields, older rural residential development, and newer suburban development. U.S. Route 167 is a north-south United States Highway within the U.S. states of Louisiana and Arkansas. It runs for from Ash Flat, Arkansas at U.S. Route 62/ U.S. Route 412 to Abbeville, Louisiana at Louisiana Highway 14. US 90
U.S. Route 90 or U.S. Highway 90 (US 90) is an east–west major United States highway in the Southern United States. Despite the "0" in its route number, US 90 never was a full coast-to-coast route. It generally travels near Interstate 10 (I-10) and passes through the southern states of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. US 90 also includes part of the DeSoto Trail between Tallahassee and Lake City, Florida.
