Lac-Pikauba, Quebec
Lac-Pikauba is an unorganized territory (Quebec), unorganized territory in the Capitale-Nationale region of Quebec, Canada. It is a large, unpopulated, undeveloped territory that makes up two-thirds of the Charlevoix Regional County Municipality. The entire area west of Quebec Route 381, which bisects the territory, is part of the Laurentides Wildlife Reserve and the Grands-Jardins National Park. A portion of the Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie National Park is in the north-eastern part of the territory. The territory's largest lake is the eponymous Pikauba Lake. This toponym comes from the Innu-aimun, Montagnais word ''Opikopau''. ''Opi'' is a root to indicate that something is enclosed or confined. ''Kopau'' describes a lake with alders, reeds, or other. So Pikauba may be translated as "lake narrowed by Alders". The map of provincial surveyor Frederic William Blaiklock from 1852 referred to this lake by the name Chicoutimi Lake. Mont-Apica, Quebec
Mont-Apica is an unorganized territory in the Canadian province of Quebec, located in the regional county municipality of Lac-Saint-Jean-Est. It had a population of 0 in the Canada 2011 Census, and covered a land area of 12.68 km2, entirely within the Laurentides Wildlife Reserve. The territory was home to the former RCAF Station Mont Apica, located along Quebec Route 169 at the base of the namesake Mount Apica. Part of the Pinetree Line and NORAD, the station became operational in 1952 and had a staff of some 500 persons at its peak. Political and technological changes made the station redundant and it closed in 1990. The Apica River, a small tributary of the Pikauba River, flows through the territory in a narrow and deep valley at the foot of the high Mount Apica. Saguenay ( , , ) is a city in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec, Canada, on the Saguenay River, about north of Quebec City by overland route. In some older English translations they were called county regional municipality. Regional county municipalities are a supralocal type of regional municipality, and act as the local municipality in Unorganized area#Quebec, unorganized territories within their borders. The system of regional county municipalities was introduced beginning in 1979 to replace the List of former counties of Quebec, historic counties of Quebec.
