Labour Together
Labour Together, formerly known as Common Good Labour, is a British think tank closely associated with the Labour Party which supported Keir Starmer in the 2020 Labour Party leadership election. It works to measure public opinion and develop political policy, and supported Labour in the 2024 general election as well as for a second term in government. It is regarded by '' The Guardian'', '' Politico'', '' The Times'' and '' Business Insider'' as a highly influential group upon the current Labour Party, and seen as an "incubator" of its 2024 manifesto. It has sought to resemble the centre-right think tank Onward. Onward (think Tank)
Onward is a UK-based think tank producing research on economic and social issues. Founded in 2018 by Will Tanner, Martyn Rose, and Neil O'Brien, it is chaired by Danny Finkelstein. The founders state that Onward would operate in the mainstream of conservative politics, and is a reaction to the "lack of energy on the centre right". It is explicitly aligned to the Conservative Party and is not a charity. Maurice Glasman
Maurice Glasman, Baron Glasman (born 8 March 1961) is an English political theorist, academic, social commentator, and Labour life peer in the House of Lords. He is a senior lecturer in Political Theory at London Metropolitan University, Director of its Faith and Citizenship Programme and a columnist for the ''New Statesman'', '' UnHerd'', '' Tablet'' and ''Spiked''. Tristram Hunt
Tristram Julian William Hunt, (born 31 May 1974) is a British historian, broadcast journalist and former politician who has been Director of the Victoria and Albert Museum since 2017. Chuka Umunna
Chuka Harrison Umunna (; born 17 October 1978) is a British retired politician who served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Streatham from 2010 until 2019. A former member of the Labour Party, he was part of the Shadow Cabinet from 2011 to 2015. He left Labour in February 2019, when he resigned to form The Independent Group, later Change UK, along with six other MPs. The Independent
''The Independent'' is a British online newspaper. It was established in 1986 as a national morning printed paper. Nicknamed the ''Indy'', it began as a broadsheet and changed to tabloid format in 2003. The last printed edition was published on Saturday 26 March 2016, leaving only the online edition. New Labour
New Labour was a period in the history of the British Labour Party from the mid to late 1990s until 2010 under the leadership of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. The name dates from a conference slogan first used by the party in 1994, later seen in a draft manifesto which was published in 1996 and titled '' New Labour, New Life for Britain''. It was presented as the brand of a newly reformed party that had altered Clause IV and endorsed market economics. The branding was extensively used while the party was in government between 1997 and 2010. Momentum (organisation)
Momentum is a British left-wing political organisation which has been described as a grassroots movement supportive of the Labour Party; since January 2017, all Momentum members must be (or become) members of the party. It was founded in 2015 by Jon Lansman, Adam Klug, Emma Rees and James Schneider after Jeremy Corbyn's successful campaign to become Labour Party leader and it is reported to have between 20,000 and 30,000 members in 2021. The organisation has polarised Labour politicians and journalists since it was founded. Lisa Eva Nandy (born 9 August 1979) is a British politician serving as Shadow Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities since 2021. Steve Reed (politician)
Steven Mark Ward Reed (born 12 November 1963) is a British politician who has been Shadow Secretary of State for Justice since November 2021. A member of the Labour and Co-operative party, he has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Croydon North since a 2012 by-election. Reed was Shadow Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government from 2020 to 2021. Prior to his election to Parliament, he was leader of Lambeth London Borough Council from 2006 to 2012. Jon Cruddas
Jonathan Cruddas (born 7 April 1962) is a British Labour Party politician who has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Dagenham and Rainham since 2010, and formerly for Dagenham between 2001 and 2010. A graduate of the University of Warwick, Cruddas was first elected to Parliament at the 2001 general election. Having been critical of many aspects of the Blair government, he stood for the deputy leadership of the Labour Party in 2007, although he openly stated he did not wish to become Deputy Prime Minister. Despite winning the most votes in the first round of voting, he was eliminated in the penultimate round of the contest.
