La Década Prodigiosa
La Década Prodigiosa (; "The Prodigious Decade"), also known as just La Década, is a Spanish music group formed in the mid-eighties that participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 1988. La Década Prodigiosa came up in 1985 as a project directed by Javier de Juan (drums), Manel Santisteban (piano) and Manuel Aguilar (bass) to produce an album of medleys of popular Spanish songs from the sixties. Several session singers collaborated in this first album, ''Los Años 60, Vol. I''. Due to the success of the album, a band of eight members was formed in 1986 for the second album (''Los Años 60, Vol. II''): Manolo Rodríguez, Cecilia Blanco, Ana Nery, Carmelo Martínez and Jose Subiza joined the three creators. The band toured Spain with their own show. Mikel Herzog
Mikel Herzog Herzog (born 16 April 1960 in Bergara, Gipuzkoa, Basque Country, Spain) is a Spanish singer-songwriter known for his participation in the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest. Herzog was a member of various groups in the 1980s, including his own band Ébano. For a short time he was the drummer for the band Cadillac, and later became a member of La Década Prodigiosa. He also wrote songs for other artists, including "Tractor amarillo" which was a hit for the group Zapato Veloz in 1993; and "La Puerta del Colegio" (1991) and "Mi Amada" (1993), hits for the Mexican group Magneto (along with Alberto Estébanez). In music, a medley is a piece composed from parts of existing pieces played one after another, sometimes overlapping. They are common in popular music, and most medleys are songs rather than instrumentals. The Benidorm International Song Festival (), until 2004 simply Benidorm Song Festival (), was an annual song contest held in the city of Benidorm, Spain. The contest, based on the Italian Sanremo Music Festival, was created to promote Benidorm and Music of Spain, Spanish music. It originally ran from 1959 to 2006 (except in 1979, 1984 and from 1986 to 1992, when it was not held) and used to take place in the summer. Patricia Kraus (; born 4 January 1964) is a Spanish singer, best known for her participation in the 1987 Eurovision Song Contest. Early life Kraus was born in Milan, Italy. Kraus' father was Alfredo Kraus, a Spanish tenor. As a youngster, Kraus trained as a classical vocalist, but later opted for pop-rock music in preference. Career In 1987, Kraus was chosen internally by TVE as the Spanish representative for that year's Eurovision Song Contest with the song "No estás solo" ("You're Not Alone").
