La Cienega Heights, Los Angeles
La Cienega Heights is a neighborhood in the Westside of the city of Los Angeles, California. La Cienega Heights is bounded by Cadillac Avenue on the south, La Cienega Boulevard on the east, Sawyer Street on the north and Robertson Boulevard on the west. The area was previously known as Cadillac–Corning. The new name has been used since 2003. A legal filing by the La Cienega Heights Association claimed that the neighborhood's "core area" was bounded by "Smiley Drive to the north, Jefferson Boulevard to the south, Carmona Avenue to the east, and La Cienega/Fairfax to the west. The community consists primarily of single-family dwellings and the ethnic makeup is primarily African American and Latino." The neighborhood originally had a substantial Jewish population. La Cienega Boulevard is a major north–south arterial road in the Los Angeles metropolitan area that runs from the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood in the north to El Segundo Boulevard in Hawthorne in the south. Reynier Village is a neighborhood on the Westside of Los Angeles, California. The Reynier Village neighborhood was known as Reynier Park in the 1920s and 1930s although the actual city park was not established until the late 1970s. Beverlywood is a neighborhood in the Westside of the city of Los Angeles, California. History Beverlywood was developed in 1940 by Walter H. Leimert, who also developed Leimert Park. The neighborhood consists of 1,354 single family homes, and was one of the first neighborhoods in the Los Angeles area to have binding CC&Rs. These regulations, which are administered by the Beverlywood Homes Association, strictly limit housing size, style, color, and design along with additional restrictions on landscaping, and are enforced by a review committee. Additionally, all residents are required to pay the fees to the Beverlywood Home Association. In recent years, the neighborhood has become a hotspot for mansionization. Despite complying with HOA regulations, many residents believe that the newer and larger houses ruin the feel of the neighborhood and have been successfully campaigning the Los Angeles City Council for regulations to restrict new home sizes. Alexander Hamilton High School, also known as just Hamilton High School is a public high school in the Castle Heights neighborhood within the Westside of Los Angeles, California, United States. It is in the Los Angeles Unified School District. It was established in 1931. History Alexander Hamilton High School opened in Fall 1931, with Thomas Hughes Elson as the principal. It was designed by architects John C. Austin and Frederick C. Ashley. The three-story administration building held the administration, library, and science departments and 24 classrooms.
