London Mathematical Society
The London Mathematical Society (LMS) is one of the United Kingdom's Learned society, learned societies for mathematics (the others being the Royal Statistical Society (RSS), the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA), the Edinburgh Mathematical Society and the Operational Research Society (ORS). History The Society was established on 16 January 1865, the first president being Augustus De Morgan. The earliest meetings were held in University College London, University College, but the Society soon moved into Burlington House, Piccadilly. The initial activities of the Society included talks and publication of a journal. The LMS was used as a model for the establishment of the American Mathematical Society in 1888. The Education Reform Act 1988 (c. 40) is legislation that introduced multiple changes to the education system in England and Wales, including the introduction of Key Stages and the National Curriculum. It replaced many rules and structures that had been in place since the 'Butler' Education Act 1944. Provisions The main provisions of the Education Reform Act are as follows: * Academic tenure was abolished for academics appointed on or after 20 November 1987. * An element of choice was introduced, where parents could specify which school was their preferred choice. * City Technology Colleges (CTCs) were introduced. A Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) or Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) is a local government plan (in the United States, typically implemented at a county level), that is designed to reduce or eliminate risks to people and property from natural and man-made hazards. Mitigation strategies are supported by state government and federal programs, in line with the Disaster Mitigation Act. The need for hazard mitigation has become more widely recognized over the past few years, due to the large number of natural hazards that have occurred in the U.S. and the increase in the costs to achieve post-disaster recovery. Denroy Morgan
Denroy Morgan (15 May 1945 – 3 March 2022) was a Jamaican-born American reggae artist. Morgan traveled to the United States in 1965, at the age of 20, to become a musician. He was part of the formation of the Black Eagles, a New York City reggae band in the 1970s, before launching a prosperous solo career in the 1980s onwards. His children, encouraged by his success, have also taken on musical careers themselves including Laza Morgan, Gramps Morgan, and in family bands LMS and Morgan Heritage. In the Black Eagles Morgan had started in the 1970s and created the Black Eagles, a reggae band in New York City in 1974 with Devon "Igo Levi" Foster and Llewellyn "Jah T" Breadwood. Last man standing (LMS) or last team standing (LTS) is a multiplayer deathmatch gameplay mode featured in certain computer and video games, particularly, but not exclusively, first-person shooters, and is also the basis of battle royale games. The aim of a player in a last man standing match is to neutralize their opponents and remain the sole survivor. The basic rules followed are generally the same as a regular deathmatch mode, with one important difference being that respawn is limited or not allowed at all. Each player is assigned a specific number of lives per match (or just one when there is no respawn).
