LGV Bordeaux–Toulouse
The LGV Bordeaux–Toulouse is a 222 kilometre (138 mi) long future French high-speed rail line reserved for passenger traffic between Bordeaux and Toulouse. Its dual aim is: * to ensure high-speed service of the Toulouse region through an extension of the LGV Sud Europe Atlantique and reduce the journey time between Paris and Toulouse to slightly over 3 hours. * in a more distant and less defined future, to be part of a proposed "Southern Link", connecting the Atlantic and Mediterranean from Bordeaux to Nice via Toulouse, Montpellier and Marseille. Captieux
Captieux (; ) is a commune of Southwestern France, located in the Gironde department, Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2015: Aquitaine). It lies near the border with the Landes and Lot-et-Garonne departments. The commune is in the east of the ''Parc naturel régional des Landes de Gascogne''. Between 1950 and 1967, the U.S. Army's 23,000-acre 571st Ordnance Ammunition Command (Captieux Ordnance Depot) was situated southwest of the village. The Itinéraire à Grand Gabarit, a route which has been modified to allow its use by the oversize road convoys conveying body sections and wings of the Airbus A380 airliner, bypasses Captieux using a specially created private track about to the east of the village. Occitania ( ; ; ) is the southernmost Regions of France, administrative region of metropolitan France excluding Corsica, located on the southwest of the country, created on 1 January 2016 from the former regions of Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrénées. Jean Castex
Jean Castex (; born 25 June 1965) is a French politician who served as Prime Minister of France from 3 July 2020 to 16 May 2022. He was a member of The Republicans (LR) until 2020. Castex served for twelve years as mayor of the small town of Prades prior to his appointment as prime minister by President Emmanuel Macron. He resigned his post ahead of the 2022 legislative election. He has been president of the state-owned RATP since November 2022. La Réole (; ) is a commune in the Gironde department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France. Geography La Réole is located on the right bank of the Garonne, southeast of Bordeaux by rail. La Réole station has rail connections to Agen, Langon and Bordeaux. History There is evidence of a Roman villa, ''La Pontesa'', with an adjoining cemetery which has been dated to be from the 3rd or 4th century. There were other Roman villas nearby. Libourne (; ) is a commune in the Gironde department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France. It is a sub-prefecture of the department.
