Kelburne Hockey Club
Kelburne Hockey Club is a Scottish field hockey club, founded in 1969 and based in Paisley. Kelburne today operates five senior men's teams, three senior women's teams and numerous junior teams at all age group levels. The club has dominated Scottish domestic hockey in recent seasons. Kelburne HC has also supplied the Scottish National Team with the vast majority of the Gents' team as well as consistently being represented in the Scotland national ladies team. The club has also had success in Europe. The club was founded in 1969. Since then Kelburne Hockey Club has developed into the most successful hockey club in Scotland. Since its formation at accommodation at Whitehaugh, Paisley, the club has flourished from being unfashionable to being the top hockey club in Scotland with very strong men's, ladies' and youth sections. Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities. The stick has two sides; one rounded and one flat; only the flat face of the stick is allowed to progress the ball. During play, goalkeepers are the only players allowed to touch the ball with any part of their body. A player's hand is considered part of the stick if holding the stick. Euro Hockey League
The Euro Hockey League is an annual men's field hockey cup competition organized by the European Hockey Federation, EHF for the very top field hockey clubs in Europe. The competition was launched at the start of the 2007-08 field hockey season when it merged and replaced the men's EuroHockey Club Champions Cup (the champions competition) and the EuroHockey Cup Winners Cup (the Cup Winners' competition). Featuring many of the world's best players, the EHL is now seen as the pinnacle of club hockey in Europe (hockey's equivalent of the UEFA Champions League) with top clubs from across the continent playing what many consider to be the most exciting and dynamic club hockey in the world. Mark Ralph (field Hockey)
Mark Ralph (born 10 February 1980 in Paisley) is a field hockey midfield player from Scotland. Ralph earned his first cap for the Men's National Team in 2011 against India, and went on to win 154 caps for Scotland and 24 caps for Great Britain. He scored 74 goals Scotland and 1 goal for GB. Ralph scored many of his goals due to a trademark drag flick. Ralph played his club hockey for Kelburne HC before moving to the Netherlands with powerful Dutch side Hockey Club Klein Zwitzerland, based in The Hague. Alan Forsyth (born 5 April 1992) is a Scottish field hockey player who plays as a forward for HGC and the Scotland and Great Britain national teams.
