Karl Schäfer Memorial
The Karl Schäfer Memorial (other titles: Asko Cup (1987), Vienna Cup (1994), or Vienna Trophy) was a senior-level international figure skating competition held in Vienna, Austria. Medals were awarded in four disciplines: men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. It joined the World Figure Skating Championships in 1952, and became a Winter Olympic Games medal sport in 1976. A .... It formed the Donaupokal along with the Penta Cup International (also known as Novarat Trophy), an event in Budapest. Thomas Wieser
Thomas Wieser (born 1954) is an American-Austrian economist working for the European Union. He was the president of Economic and Financial Committee (EFC) of the EU as well as the president of the Eurogroup Working Group (EWG), both advisory bodies of the Eurogroup, until February 2018. Political career Between 2005 and 2009, Wieser chaired the OECD Committee on Financial Markets. Wieser became Vice-President of Economic and Financial Committee of the European Union (EFC) in November 2005. He went on to serve his first term as the President of the committee from March 2009 to March 2011. Prior to October 2011, Wieser was Director General for Economic Policy and Financial Markets in the Ministry of Finance, Austria. In October 2011, Wieser became the full time president of the Eurogroup Working Group (EWG), an advisory body to the Eurogroup. Dmytro Dmytrenko ( uk, Дмитро Дмитренко, also Dmitri Dmitrenko from russian: Дмитрий Дмитренко; born 25 July 1973) is a Ukrainian former competitive figure skater. While representing the Soviet Union, he won the 1992 World Junior title. For Ukraine, he won the 1993 European title and 2000 European bronze medal. He competed at the 1998 and 2002 Winter Olympics. Ronny Winkler (born 29 July 1971) is a German former competitive figure skater. He won two senior internationals, bronze at the 1989 Karl Schäfer Memorial and at the 1990 Nations Cup, and three national titles, East German in 1990 and German in 1993–94. At the European Championships, Winkler achieved his highest placement, tenth, in 1993 and 1994, and at the World Championships, 15th in 1993. Elvis Stojko
Elvis Stojko, (born March 22, 1972) is a Canadian figure skater. He was a three-time World champion (1994, 1995, 1997), two-time Olympic silver medallist (1994, 1998), and seven-time Canadian champion (1994, 1996–2000, and 2002). Personal life Stojko was born in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada to a Hungarian mother and Slovenian father and was named after Elvis Presley, of whom his parents were fans. His father arrived in Canada on a boat in 1955 and his mother, Irene ( hu, Irén), fled the Soviet invasion of Hungary in 1956. Stojko grew up in Richmond Hill, Ontario. There is a hockey arena named after him in Richmond Hill. Stojko competed in the 2005 WKA Canadian Championships and placed first in the Chinese martial arts division.
