KDMI (channel 19) is a religious television station in Des Moines, Iowa, United States, owned and operated by Tri-State Christian Television (TCT). The station's transmitter is located in Alleman, Iowa. KDMI maintained studios on Southwest 7th Street in downtown Des Moines until TCT ended local operations in June 2018. History KDMI signed on August 28, 2006 as an America One affiliate. MyNetworkTV programming was added upon its launch on September 5. As MyNetworkTV's prime time lineup only aired six days a week for two hours, America One programming was retained in all other timeslots. It is owned by Tegna Inc. alongside ABC affiliate WOI-DT (channel 5), also licensed to Ames. Both stations share studios on Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, while KCWI-TV's transmitter is located in Alleman, Iowa. TheGrio, styled as thegrio, is an American television network and website with news, opinion, entertainment and video content geared toward Black Americans. The website originally launched in June 2009 as a division of NBC News, it became a division of MSNBC in 2013. It was founded by the team who created the documentary film '' Meeting David Wilson''. In 2014, it was sold to its founders. In June 2016, Byron Allen's Entertainment Studios acquired the site. Pappas Telecasting Companies was a diversely organized broadcasting company headquartered in Visalia, California, United States. Founded in 1971, it was one of the largest privately held broadcasting companies in the country, with its stations reaching over 15% of all U.S. households and over 32% of Hispanic households. 1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. Local Marketing Agreement
In North American broadcasting, a local marketing agreement (LMA), or local management agreement, is a contract in which one company agrees to operate a radio or television station owned by another party. In essence, it is a sort of lease or time-buy. Under Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations, a local marketing agreement must give the company operating the station (the "senior" partner) under the agreement control over the entire facilities of the station, including the finances, personnel and programming of the station.
