Kęstutis Krasauskas
Kęstutis Krasauskas (born September 14, 1968, Panevežys, Lithuania) is a Lithuanian artist and sculptor. Biography In 1987, Krasauskas graduated from Kaunas applied arts technical school named after S.Žukas, specialising in decorative wood processing. After graduation, from 1988 to 1992 he worked at the Rumšiškės Open-air Ethnographic Museum. From 1992 to 1996, Krasauskas studied sculpture at the Vilnius Academy of Arts and obtained a bachelor's degree in sculpture. His tutors were Mindaugas Šnipas, Gediminas Karalius and Konstantinas Bogdanas. In 2002, Krasauskas graduated from Vilnius Academy of Arts with a master's degree. He has participated in exhibitions and plein-airs since 1987. His sculptures have been exhibited in Lithuania (in Vilnius, Kaunas, Panevėžys, Šiauliai, Pasvalys, Joniškis, Rokiškis, Biržai, Ukmergė, Palanga and Anykščiai), as well as in Denmark, Germany and Italy. Pasvalys
Pasvalys () is a city in Panevėžys County, Lithuania, located near the bank of the Svalia River. History In 1557, the Treaty of Pasvalys was signed in the town, which provoked Ivan IV of Russia to start the Livonian War. Pasvalys has mineral spring waters – in 1923 physician K. Armonas created a small sanatorium. At this time about 200 people spent time in sanatorium yearly. Soviet occupation and mass deportations in 1941 were devastating – most of the most active teachers and civil servants, intellectuals were deported to remote regions in Russia and Central Asia. In August 1941, 1349 Jews from the village and the surroundings were executed by an Einsatzgruppen of Germans and local collaborators as mentioned in the Jäger Report. Varėna () is a city in Dzūkija, southern Lithuania. It is the capital of the district of Varėna. Currently, there are 7,794 residents. Irdning
Irdning is a former municipality in the district of Liezen in the Austrian state of Styria. Since the 2015 Styria municipal structural reform, it is part of the municipality Irdning-Donnersbachtal. Pumpėnai
Pumpėnai is a small town in Panevėžys County, in northeastern Lithuania. According to the 2011 census, the town has a population of 855 people. History The first church in Pumpėnai was built around 1638. The town established itself due to the settlement of monks from the Carmelites, Order of Carmelites in 17th century. The monastery was built by Povilas and Jurgis Zavadskis and Juozapas Šyšla in 1655. The monastery was built from wood and burned down in 1770 and then was rebuilt. In 1792 Pumpėnai got Magdeburg rights. On 15 July 1941, Jews of the town were kept imprisoned in a ghetto. On August 26, 1941, an execution squad murdered the Jews in a mass execution.
