Körslaget 2008
Körslaget 2008 was the first season of the Swedish TV entertainment program Körslaget, based on Clash of the Choirs and broadcast on TV4. The first season was shown in spring 2008 and consisted of eight sections, and from the second section, a choir was voted out in each section. The show premiered 29 March and the finale aired 10 May, which was won by Team Cans. The show's host for the first season was Gry Forssell. Seven artists were commissioned to gather seven singers for their choirs from their respective home towns and compete with them against the other performers' choirs. No one was eliminated during the first episode. Instead, the votes for that episode were included in episode 2. Team Linda and Team Markoolio got the fewest votes. Eliminations started on the second episode. The first choir to be eliminated was ''Team Siw'', led by Siw Malmkvist . Vänersborg
Vänersborg () is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality and the seat of Vänersborg Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden with 23,882 inhabitants (out of a municipal total of 39,904) Until 1997 it was the capital of Älvsborg County, which merged into Västra Götaland County. Since 1999 Vänersborg has been the seat of the regional parliament for Region Västra Götaland. Björn Skifs
Björn Nils Olof Skifs (; born 20 April 1947) is a Swedish singer, songwriter, actor, and screenwriter. Skifs has represented Sweden twice in the Eurovision Song Contest, in the 1978 contest and in the 1981 contest. Career Björn Skifs formed his first musical group, Slam Creepers, in 1962. Slam Creepers split in 1969 and Skifs went on to form a new band, Blåblus (a farmer's or workman's shirt (blus, blouse) made from blue (blå, blue) fabric - a pun (blues)) in 1972. Queen (band)
Queen are a British Rock music, rock band formed in London in 1970 by Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), and Roger Taylor (Queen drummer), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals), later joined by John Deacon (bass). Chubby Checker (born Ernest Evans; October 3, 1941) is an American singer and dancer. He is widely known for popularizing many dance styles, including the Twist, with his 1960 hit cover of Hank Ballard & The Midnighters' R&B song " The Twist", and the pony dance style with the 1961 cover of the song " Pony Time". Let's Twist Again
"Let's Twist Again" is a song written by Kal Mann and Dave Appell, and released as a single by Chubby Checker. One of the biggest hit singles of 1961, it reached No. 8 on the U.S. ''Billboard'' pop chart (No. 3 on ''Cash Box'') in August of that year and subsequently reached No. 2 in the UK in the spring of 1962. The song refers to the Twist dance craze and Checker's 1960 single " The Twist", a two-time U.S. No. 1 single (in September 1960 and again in January 1962 on re-release). The song received the 1962 Grammy Award for Best Rock & Roll Recording. Checker also recorded the song in German as "Der Twist Beginnt" and in Italian as "Balliamo il Twist".
