Kåre Bergstrøm
Kåre Bergstrøm (3 February 1911 – 24 June 1976) was a Swedish-born cinematographer and film director who settled in Norway. Bergstrøm was born in Värmland. He was assigned with the film production company Norsk Film from 1933, and eventually became took up cinematography. He was the cinematographer for Toralf Sandø's film ''Den forsvundne pølsemaker'' from 1941, Tancred Ibsen's film '' Den farlige leken'' from 1942, Rasmus Breistein's '' Trysil-Knut'' from 1942, and Alfred Maurstad's comedy '' En herre med bart'' from 1942. After World War II he was the cinematographer for Edith Carlmar's film debut '' Døden er et kjærtegn'', and Ibsen's '' To mistenkelige personer'', which was eventually denied a public showing after a judgement by the Supreme Court of Norway. His first film as director was the love story '' Andrine og Kjell'' from 1952. Värmland
Värmland () is a ''Provinces of Sweden, landskap'' (historical province) in west-central Sweden. It borders Västergötland, Dalsland, Dalarna, Västmanland, and Närke, and is bounded by Norway in the west. Blodveien (film)
''Blodveien'' (The Blood Road; ) is a Norway, Norwegian-Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Yugoslav drama film from 1955 directed by Kåre Bergstrøm and Radoš Novaković. The script was written by Sigurd Evensmo. The film premiered in Norway on February 17, 1955. Plot ''Blodveien'' portrays the conditions that Yugoslav (mostly Serbian) slave laborers and prisoners of war lived under in Northern Norway in 1942 during the German occupation of Norway, Second World War, when the Germans wanted to build the route known as the "Blood Road" (today part of European route E6 among other routes). Two local Norwegian friends and construction workers, Ketil and Ivar, serve as construction supervisors on the road under pressure from the Germans. The ''Great Norwegian Encyclopedia'' (, abbreviated ''SNL'') is a Norwegian-language online encyclopedia. It has several subdivisions, including the Norsk biografisk leksikon. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. He took the examen artium in Stavanger in 1949, and a teacher's education in Kristiansand in 1952. He studied philology in Oslo and Bergen, and graduated with the cand.philol. degree in 1957. His paper ''Omkring Bǫglungasǫgur'', on the Bagler sagas, was printed in 1959. In December 1957 he married Karen Blauuw, who would later become a professor. Bjurra
''Bjurra'' is a 1970 Norway, Norwegian drama film directed by Kåre Bergstrøm, starring Henki Kolstad and Inger Marie Andersen. Bjurra is an abandoned fishing village on Lofoten island. One summer the place is visited by thirteen children from a boarding school, along with their caretaker Pedersen (Kolstad) and his wife (Andersen). When Mrs. Pedersen one day breaks her leg and needs to be hospitalized, the children take over the care of the island. They establish a newspaper and a sports clubs and stage a play. The children even write a constitution and select a municipal council and a president. In a short while, Bjurra develops into a viable community, with the children's caretaker, Pedersen, as honorary citizen. Three of them relate accounts of supernatural events they have encountered, while the fourth is skeptical of their stories. The main roles are played by Lars Nordrum, Frank Robert, Rolf Søder, and Hans Stormoen. The film is based on the 1963 André Bjerke novel ''Enhjørningen''. Bjerke also wrote the screenplay. Hans Nielsen Hauge
Hans Nielsen Hauge (3 April 1771 – 29 March 1824) was a 19th-century Norwegian Lutheran lay minister, spiritual leader, business entrepreneur, social reformer and author. He led a noted Pietism revival known as the Haugean movement. Hauge is also considered to have been influential in the early industrialization of Norway. Biography Hans Nielsen Hauge was born the fifth of ten children in his ancestral farm of Hauge at Rolvsøy (''Hauge på Rolvsøy'') in the county of Østfold. His father was Niels Mikkelsen Evenrød (1732–1813) and mother Maria Olsdatter Hauge (1735–1811). He had a poor and otherwise ordinary youth until 5 April 1796, when he received his "spiritual baptism" in a field near his farm. Within two months, he had founded a revival movement in his own community, written a book, and decided to take his mission on the road. He wrote a series of books in his lifetime.
