Kätlin Vainola
Kätlin Vainola (born 30 September 1978 in Tallinn) is a contemporary Estonians, Estonian Children’s author, children’s writer and poet. She sometimes uses the pen name Marie Myrk. Biography Born in Tallinn, she spent her earliest years in the subdistrict of Kopli before the family moved to Põlva. The family later returned to Tallinn where she graduated from secondary school at the Pääsküla Gymnasium. Vainola graduated from Tallinn University in Estonian philology in 2002 and has worked as a teacher, project manager, and editor and has written lyrics for the bands Vennaskond and Sõpruse Puiestee. She currently works as the editor-in-chief of the children’s magazine ''Hea Laps''. Since 2014 she is a member of the Estonian Writers' Union. Tänapäev
Tänapäev is an Estonian publishing house established in 1999 and headquartered in Tallinn. The main subjects it publishes are translated and original fiction, history, politics, biographies and children literature. In the year 2000, Tänapäev published 45 books. It published 60 books in 2001, 70 books in 2002, 86 books in 2004, and in 2012, it published about 135 books. About 2/3 of titles are translations, 1/3 Estonian originals. Vennaskond
Vennaskond (Estonian for ''Brotherhood'') is an Estonian punk rock band founded in 1984. The band has toured in Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Romania, Sweden, Germany, France, India, Poland and the United States (including CBGB). To show respect to the band, Metallica covered Vennaskond's hit song Insener Garini Hüperboloid (Engineer Garin's Hyperboloid) in Estonia in front of a 60 000 strong crowd during their gig in Tartu, Estonia on 18 July 2019.
