Kyauktada Township
Kyauktada Township ( ) is the center of downtown Yangon, Myanmar. The township consists of nine wards, and shares borders with Botataung Township in the east, Seikkan Township and Yangon River in the south, Pabedan Township in the west and Mingala Taungnyunt Township in the north. Bago Region
Bago Region (, ; formerly Pegu Division and Bago Division) is an administrative divisions of Myanmar, administrative region of Myanmar, located in the southern central part of the country. It is bordered by Magway Region and Mandalay Region to the north; Kayin State, Mon State and the Gulf of Martaban to the east; Yangon Region to the south and Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State to the west. It is located between 46°45'N and 19°20'N and 94°35'E and 97°10'E. It has a population of 4,867,373 (2014). Strand Hotel
The Strand (also known as Strand Hotel) is a Victorian-style hotel located in Yangon, Myanmar (Burma), built by Aviet and Tigran Sarkies, two of the Sarkies Brothers. The hotel, which opened in 1901, which faces the Yangon River to its south, is one of the most famous hotels in Yangon and Southeast Asia, and is managed by GCP Hospitality. The hotel is named after its address, at 92 Strand Road. History The Strand opened in 1901. It was built by the British entrepreneur John Darwood but later acquired by the Sarkies brothers, who owned a number of luxury hotels in the Far East, including the Raffles Hotel in Singapore and the Eastern & Oriental Hotel in Penang, Malaysia. Bo Aung Kyaw Road
Bo Aung Kyaw Street or Road, formerly Sparks Street is a major street, passing south–north through Kyauktada Township and Botataung Township in southern Yangon, Burma. The street begins at an intersection near the Yangon River with Strand Road, Yangon, Strand Road at , passes north and crosses Maha Bandula Road and Anawrahta Road before eventually joining Bogyoke Aung San Road at . The street contains a number of historical buildings including St. Mary's Cathedral, Yangon, Saint Mary's Cathedral (located at the very north of the street on the corner with Bogyoke Aung San Road) and Sri Sri Durba Bari Hindu Temple. The cherry blossom, or sakura, is the flower of trees in ''Prunus'' subgenus ''Prunus subg. Cerasus, Cerasus''. ''Sakura'' usually refers to flowers of ornamental cherry trees, such as cultivars of ''Prunus serrulata'', not Cherry, trees grown for their fruit (although these also have blossoms).
