Kurti (king)
Atuna () or Tuna () was a Luwian language, Luwian-speaking Syro-Hittite states, Syro-Hittite state which existed in the Tabal (region), region of Tabal in southeastern Anatolia in the Iron Age. Geography Location The exact location of Atuna is still unknown due to a present lack of Luwian inscriptions from the kingdom's capital, and, while the site of Zeyve Höyük, corresponding to classical Tynna, has been suggested as a possible location for the capital of Atuna, Atuna was instead likely located further north, in northern Cappadocia. Since Atuna later obtained the territory of the Tabalian kingdom of Šinuḫtu, it was likely in the region immediately south of the Halys river's southernmost bend, to the immediate north of Šinuḫtu, and to the west of the kingdom of Tabal (state), Tabal proper and around the site which the present-day village of Bohça, which was possibly its capital and where the king Kurdis of Atuna had erected a stele. Kurti In modern usage, a short kurta is referred to as the kurti, which is usually is the attire of females. However, traditionally, the term kurti refers to waist coats, jackets and blouses which sit above the waist without side slits, and are believed to have descended from the tunic of the Shunga period (2nd century BC). The kurti is distinguished from the choli by the latter leaving the midriff exposed. The Kurti can be a unisex garment, in the same way the Kurta can be a unisex garment. The main difference generally is that the Kurti Top is much longer, whereas the Kurta is a bit shorter. "''Usually the Kurti was longer than male's Kurta, for sometimes it reached down astthe knees. (Raghoo 1984:3) * She used to wear long dress and kurtee and tie a handkerchief on her head. (Deen 1994:167).''" It is a typica ...

Kotli District
Kotli District () is a district of Pakistan-administered Azad Kashmir in the disputed Kashmir region. The application of the term "administered" to the various regions of Kashmir and a mention of the Kashmir dispute is supported by the tertiary sources (a) through (e), reflecting due weight in the coverage. Although "controlled" and "held" are also applied neutrally to the names of the disputants or to the regions administered by them, as evidenced in sources (h) through (i) below, "held" is also considered politicized usage, as is the term "occupied," (see (j) below). (a) (subscription required) Quote: "Kashmir, region of the northwestern Indian subcontinent ... has been the subject of dispute between India and Pakistan since the partition of the Indian subcontinent in 1947. The northern and western portions are administered by Pakistan and comprise three areas: Azad Kashmir, Gilgit, and Baltistan, the last two being part of a territory called the Northern Areas. Kurti, Sudan
Korti or Kurti () is a town in northern-central Sudan. In the Meroitic period the city appeared as Cadetum, Cadata or Coetum in Roman sources. The town lies about from Khartoum, on the south side of the Nile at the terminus of the Wadi Muqaddam. It is also known for being the centre location for the Shaigiya tribe. History In 1820 the town was the site of a battle between the Shaiqiya and an invading force of Muhammad Ali Pasha. In 1881, the Mahdist uprising led to Britain sending in an army in August 1884 under Garnet Wolseley in the so-called Nile Expedition to relieve General Gordon. Korti became a rallying point for British troops. In January 1885 a fort was built by British troops on the north side of the Nile, right in front of Korti. From here, the advance on the Nile and through the desert could take place simultaneously. In the fighting in the Bayuda Desert between ''Kurti'' and Metemmeh (on the Nile opposite Shendi) the Madhist Sudanese suffered a defeat in the Bat ...

Shtjefën Kurti
Shtjefën Kurti (24 December 1898 – 20 October 1971) was an Albanian Roman Catholic priest killed during a period of communist persecution. Kurti served as a priest during a volatile period for his nation in which communist repression enjoined state atheism and led to strict rules being imposed that prevented clerics from performing their duties. Kurti continued to function as a priest when required which saw him arrested with the accusation that he was colluding with spies. Kurti was arrested for the final time when it had been alleged that he secretly baptized a child which was forbidden by the regime. He was sentenced to death and executed by firing squad. Kurti was beatified alongside other Martyrs of Albania killed during the communist repression on 5 November 2016 after their collective beatification was approved seven months prior.
