Kurt Rebmann
Kurt Rebmann (30 May 1924 – 21 April 2005) was a German lawyer and from 1977 to 1990 'Generalbundesanwalt' ( Public Prosecutor General), the highest federal prosecutor of Germany. Life and achievements Rebmann was born in 1924 in the southwestern town of Heilbronn and studied law from 1943 to 1950 at the University of Tübingen. Public Prosecutor General (Germany)
The Public Prosecutor General at the Federal Court of Justice ( or [GBA], ) is the federal prosecutor of Germany, representing the federal government at the ''Bundesgerichtshof'', the federal court of justice. The office of the Public Prosecutor General is located in Karlsruhe. Besides its role in appellate cases, the Public Prosecutor General has primary jurisdiction in cases of crimes against the state (in particular terrorism, espionage and treason), and offences under the ''Völkerstrafgesetzbuch'' (genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes). Heilbronn () is a List of cities and towns in Germany, city in northern Baden-Württemberg, Germany, surrounded by Heilbronn (district), Heilbronn District. Siegfried Buback
Siegfried Buback (3 January 1920, Wilsdruff, Saxony – 7 April 1977, Karlsruhe) was the Attorney General of West Germany from 1974 until his murder in 1977. Life and career Buback studied at the University of Leipzig. From 1940 to 1945, he was a member of the Nazi Party, while serving as a soldier in World War II. From 1945 to 1947, he was a prisoner of war in France. In 1953 he became an attorney, and continued his career until 1972 as general attorney. His name first appeared in public in 1962 when he accused the political magazine ''Der Spiegel'' of high treason in the ''Spiegel'' scandal. In 1966, the case lead to a groundbreaking ruling of the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany about the freedom of the press. Hans "Hanns" Martin Schleyer (; 1 May 1915 – 18 October 1977) was a German business executive, employer and industry representative, Schutzstaffel, Nazi SS officer, and Lobbying, lobbyist. The Confederation of German Employers' Associations or BDA (German: ''Bundesvereinigung der Deutschen Arbeitgeberverbände'') is the umbrella organization for German employers' associations. In Germany, a crown witness () is a witness in a criminal trial who testifies against accomplices in order to receive a lower sentence from the prosecution. Crown witnesses came to prominence during the Red Army Faction (RAF) trials in the 1970s. The German Bar Association has criticized the system, claiming that testimony by crown witnesses often obstructs trials.
