Kuraby railway station is located on the Beenleigh line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Kuraby. Kuraby is the final station on the Beenleigh Line in the City of Brisbane, with the next station, Trinder Park, located in Logan City. History Kuraby station opened in 1885 as Spring Creek being renamed Kuraby in 1889. In 1998 work commenced on a third platform to allow Gold Coast line services to overtake Beenleigh line services. In 2008, an upgrade of the station was completed as part of the Salisbury to Kuraby triplication project. The upgrade included a new footbridge with lifts. As part of the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project, the station will receive level crossing removals. Kuraby is an outer southern suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Kuraby had a population of 8,737 people. Geography Kuraby is situated approximately by road south-east of the city of Brisbane. Beenleigh Road is the main road connecting the suburb to the motorways leading to the city and further parts of Brisbane and beyond. Kuraby is serviced by a fast electric train service to Brisbane city and the Gold Coast, whilst a bus service takes commuters to the large shopping centres of Upper Mount Gravatt and Springwood. The 1970s saw a Big W store with an adjoining Woolworths supermarket open in this suburb, which is now a part of the Underwood Marketplace. Gold Coast Railway Line
The Gold Coast railway line is an interurban railway line operated by Queensland Rail in Queensland, Australia, connecting Brisbane with the Gold Coast. The line has 17 stations. In 2021, a journey from Central station to the terminus of this line was scheduled to take 1 hour 23 minutes. There are plans for several new stations along the existing line, as well as an extension south. The line ran to Tweed Heads in the early 1900s until the 1960s. A new Gold Coast railway opened in 1996 with an extension to Varsity Lakes opened in 2007. In December 2017 the G:link light rail services connected to the line at Helensvale station. Ferny Grove Railway Station
Ferny Grove railway station is the terminus station of the Ferny Grove line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Ferny Grove. The Brisbane Tramway Museum is a short walk south of the station. History The station opened in 1918 as part of the extension to Samford. The line formerly extended to Dayboro, but was cut back to Ferny Grove in 1955, as part of a larger rationalisation by the Queensland Government of its railway lines. The line now terminates here with bus services running to Samford during peak times. The station was upgraded in 2012 as part of the Keperra-Ferny Grove duplication project. Bowen Hills Railway Station
Bowen Hills railway station is located on the North Coast line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Bowen Hills. North of the station, the Ferny Grove line branches off. The station is one of four inner city stations that form a core corridor through the centre of Brisbane. History There have been three railways stations named Bowen Hills. The first from 1882 to 1889 was near Campbell Street. In 1890, a new station opened at the south end of the Abbotsford Road tunnel. In 1971, to allow for the Mayne marshalling yards to be expanded, Bowen Hill and Mayne Junction stations were closed with a new Bowen Hills station opening in 1973. Beenleigh Railway Station
Beenleigh railway station is located on the Beenleigh line in Queensland, Australia. It is one of two stations serving the suburb of Beenleigh in City of Logan, the other being Holmview. History Beenleigh station opened in 1885 at its original location at the same time as the opening of the line. It served as the terminus of the line until the South Coast line opened to Southport on 25 January 1889. It became the terminus of the line again when the South Coast line closed on 30 June 1964. The station was reopened at its current location on 12 March 1988 in time for World Expo 88. The original 1885 station building was relocated to the Beenleigh Historical Village. Salisbury Railway Station, Brisbane
Salisbury railway station is located on the Beenleigh Line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Salisbury. The station opened in 1885 at the same time as the line. In September 1930, Salisbury became a junction with the opening of the standard gauge NSW North Coast line. In 1996, as part of the construction of the Gold Coast line, the standard gauge line was converted to dual gauge. Originally, the station had 49 parking bays across the two existing Park 'n' Ride facilities on Lillian Avenue.
