Kupka, Chernivtsi Oblast
Kupka (; ) is a village in Chernivtsi Raion, Chernivtsi Oblast, Ukraine. It belongs to Sucheveny rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The language of communication of the population is Romanian and Ukrainian. Until 18 July 2020, Kupka belonged to Hlyboka Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Chernivtsi Oblast to three. The area of Hlyboka Raion was merged into Chernivtsi Raion. In 2001, 97.23% of the inhabitants spoke Romanian as their native language, while 2.06% spoke Ukrainian. A report by ''HotNews'' published on 24 February 2024 showed that, by that date, two inhabitants of Kupka had died fighting in the war against Russia. One of them, Todor Schipor Bobu, died on 16 January 2023 during the battle of Bakhmut. The Order for Courage () is a Ukrainian award established by Ukrainian president Leonid Kuchma on August 21, 1996. Design by Ukrainian artist Mykola Lebid. Hlyboka Raion
Hlyboka Raion (, ) is a former administrative district of Chernivtsi Oblast located in the historical regions of Bukovina and Hertsa, in western Ukraine. The administrative center was the urban-type settlement of Hlyboka. There were 37 villages in the raion. The population of the raion according to the 2001 Census was 72,682 inhabitants, its area covers . In Ukraine, a hromada () is the main type of municipality and the third level Administrative divisions of Ukraine, local self-government in Ukraine. The current hromadas were established by the Cabinet of ministers of Ukraine, Government of Ukraine on 12 June 2020. Chernivtsi Raion () is a raion (district) of Chernivtsi Oblast, Ukraine. It was created on 18 July 2020 as part of the reform of administrative divisions of Ukraine.
