Kunstraum Of Lüneburg University
The Kunstraum of Lüneburg University is an institution for contemporary art working across different faculties of Lüneburg University. Since its renaming in 2007 the complete name is Kunstraum of Leuphana University Lüneburg. History In 1993 the Kunstraum has been founded by an interdisciplinary group of researchers, which is up to today in charge for the academic and artistic projects. Lüneburg University
Lüneburg, officially the Hanseatic City of Lüneburg and also known in English as Lunenburg, is a town in the German state of Lower Saxony. It is located about southeast of another Hanseatic city, Hamburg, and belongs to that city's wider metropolitan region. The capital of the district which bears its name, it is home to roughly 77,000 people. Contemporary history, in English-language historiography, is a subset of modern history that describes the historical period from about 1945 to the present. Julia Bryan-Wilson
Julia Bryan-Wilson is an American art historian and curator. Bryan-Wilson is Professor of Art History and Archaeology at Columbia University. She was previously the Doris and Clarence Malo Professor of Modern and Contemporary Art at the University of California, Berkeley. She received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2019. Bryan-Wilson has been a curator-at-large at the Museu de Arte de São Paulo since 2019. Early life and education Bryan-Wilson was born in Amarillo, Texas. Raised by a single mother, her father was a Vietnam War veteran. She came out as queer at the age of 15 in Houston, a city experiencing intense homophobia at the time, which she said influenced her activism. Oliver Ressler (born 1970 in Knittelfeld in Austria) is an artist who lives and works in Vienna. He produces theme-specific exhibitions, projects in the public space and videos on issues such as global capitalism, forms of resistance, social alternatives, racism and global warming. Dan Peterman
Dan Peterman is an internationally known artist who is recognized for his work with ecologically themed installation art. Additionally, he is employed as associate professor of art at the University of Illinois, Chicago. Work Peterman's work is an example of adaptive reuse though he was practicing it long before it had an official title. Peterman takes existing objects and manipulates them to show their original purpose while exposing the possibility for newness. His work explores the "intersection of art and ecology" and he "embraces a wide variety of formal and situational strategies, and employs a range of materials including recycled plastic and metals, as well as organic and post-consumer waste." Hans Ulrich Obrist (born 1968) is a Swiss art curator, critic, and art historian. He is artistic director at the Serpentine Galleries, London. Obrist is the author of ''The Interview Project'', an extensive ongoing project of interviews. He is also co-editor of the '' Cahiers d'Art'' review. He lives and works in London. Hans-Peter Feldmann
Hans-Peter Feldmann (17 January 1941 – 24 May 2023) was a German visual artist. Feldmann's approach to art-making was one of collecting, ordering, and re-presenting. Biography Feldmann was born on 17 January 1941. In the 1960s, Feldmann studied painting at the University of Arts and Industrial Design Linz in Austria. He began working in 1968, producing the first of the small handmade books that would become a signature part of his work. These modest books, simply entitled Bilde (Picture) or Bilder (Pictures), would include one or more reproductions from a certain type—knees of women, shoes, chairs, film stars, etc.--their subjects isolated in their ubiquity and presented without captions. Ruth Noack (born 12 January 1964) is a German curator and art historian. Noack and Roger M. Buergel, co-curated documenta 12 in Kassel, Germany (16 June - 23 September 2007). In 2019, it was announced that Noack would become the founding executive director of The Corner at Whitman-Walker, a new cultural institution in Washington, D.C., opening in early 2020 as a venue for multidisciplinary artistic expression attached to Whitman-Walker Health. Renée Green (born October 25, 1959) is an American artist, writer, and filmmaker. Her pluralistic practice spans a broad range of media including sculpture, architecture, photography, prints, video, film, websites, and sound, which normally converge in highly layered and complex installations. She works to draw on cultural anthropology as well as social history, making her works well-researched and many times involving collaborators.
