Ladislav Smoljak
Ladislav Smoljak (9 December 1931 – 6 June 2010) was a Czechs, Czech film and theater director, actor and screenwriter. Biography Smoljak was born in Prague. He tried to study at an art academy but failed the admission process. He went on to study physics and mathematics, and later worked as journalist and scriptwriter. Together with Zdeněk Svěrák he founded the ''Theater of Jára Cimrman'' (''Divadlo Járy Cimrmana'', ''DJC'') in Prague, named after a fictitious genius. Smoljak wrote scripts and directed several films; these became very successful in the Czech Republic. He died of cancer on 6 June 2010 in Kladno. Zita Kabátová
Zita Kabátová (27 April 191327 May 2012) was a Czech actress. Kabátová was born in Prague, where her father, Benno Kabát, an architect, also acted in plays and wrote pieces for puppet theatres. Her uncle, Josef Šváb-Malostranský, was a well-known Prague cabaret artist and film actor. During the Second World War she also played in the German films "''Glück unterwegs''" and "''Schicksal am Strom''". She wed athlete Jiří Zavřel, who represented Czechoslovakia at the Olympic Games. At the age of 44, she gave birth to their son Jiří ("George"), who now lives in the United States. Kabátová lived in an assisted-living facility in Motol from 2005 until her death in 2012. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living Czech film actress and the only one alive to have performed before World War II. The National Film Archive (, abb. NFA) is a film archive located in Prague, Czech Republic.
