Krzysztof Stefan Wójcik (born 16 October 1958 in Bytom, Poland) is a Polish people, Polish politician, teacher, President (government title)#Sub-national, president of Bytom from 1998 to 2006. Biography He graduated from ''political sciences'' on University of Silesia. In period of People's Republic of Poland, PRL he acted in Polish United Workers' Party, PZPR. In 1990 he joined Social Democracy of the Republic of Poland, SdRP, and in 1999 Democratic Left Alliance (Poland), SLD. He presided civic structures of these parties. From 1994 he was councilman of the town for two cadences, he was vice-president of education. President is a common title for the head of state in most republics. Depending on the country, a president could be head of government, a ceremonial figurehead, or something between these two extremes. The 1998 Polish local elections were held on October 11, 1998. The number of valid votes cast was 11,721,825, with 12,945,043 casting ballots out of 28,544,777 eligible voters. The turnout in the elections to the provincial assemblies was 45.35%, and the proportion of invalid votes cast was 9.06%. 2006 Polish Local Elections
The 2006 Polish local elections were held in two parts. with its first round on 12 November and the second on 26 November 2006. In the election's first round, voters chose 39,944 gmina councillors, 6,284 powiat councillors and 561 deputies to provincial voivodeship sejmiks. Additionally, 2,460 city and town mayors, borough leaders and other officials were decided by direct or runoff elections in the second round. 2002 Polish Local Elections
The 2002 Polish local elections were held in two parts, with the first round on 27 October and the second on 10 November 2002. All 16 provincial voivodeship sejmiks, 314 powiat county councils, 2,748 Gmina municipal councils, and town and city mayors were up for election. The event was the first of its kind to allow direct elections for mayors of municipalities. The local polls followed one year after the decisive victory of the Democratic Left Alliance in the 2001 parliamentary elections and were seen as a test of the popularity of the Democratic Left Alliance and Polish People's Party coalition government under Prime Minister Leszek Miller. Bytom
Bytom (Polish pronunciation: ; Silesian language, Silesian: ''Bytōm, Bytōń'', ) is a city in Upper Silesia, in southern Poland. Located in the Silesian Voivodeship, the city is 7 km northwest of Katowice, the regional capital. It is one of the oldest cities in the Upper Silesia, and the former seat of the Silesian Piasts, Piast dukes of the Duchy of Bytom. Polish United Workers' Party
The Polish United Workers' Party (, ), commonly abbreviated to PZPR, was the communist party which ruled the Polish People's Republic as a one-party state from 1948 to 1989. The PZPR had led two other legally permitted subordinate minor parties together as the Front of National Unity and later Patriotic Movement for National Rebirth. Ideologically, it was based on the theories of Marxism-Leninism, with a strong emphasis on left-wing nationalism.
