Kryovrysi, Elis
Kryovrysi (Greek: Κρυόβρυση meaning "cold spring", before 1928: Βερβενή - ''Verveni'') is a mountain village and a community in the municipal unit of Lasiona, Olympia, Elis, Greece. The community consists of the villages Kryovrysi and Kalyvia. It is situated in the southwestern foothills of Mount Erymanthos, at 960 m elevation. It is 4 km west of Agrampela, 5 km southeast of Kalentzi, 7 km north of Lampeia and 15 km northeast of Antroni. The source of the river Pineios is near Kryovrysi. Downstream from Kryovrysi, near the river bed of the Pineios, is the cave Drakotrypa (also Diakotrypa). West Greece
Western Greece Region (, ) is one of the thirteen Modern regions of Greece, administrative regions of Greece. Elis (regional Unit)
Elis also known as Ellis or Ilia (, ''Eleia'') is a historic region in the western part of the Peloponnese peninsula of Greece. It is administered as a regional unit of the modern region of Western Greece. Its capital is Pyrgos. Until 2011 it was Elis Prefecture, covering the same territory. The modern regional unit is nearly coterminous with the ancient Elis of the classical period. Here lie the ancient ruins of cities of Elis, Epitalion and Olympia, known for the ancient Olympic Games which started in 776 BC. Olympia, Greece
Olympia ( ; ), officially Archaia Olympia ( ), is a small town in Elis (regional unit), Elis on the Peloponnese peninsula in Greece, famous for the nearby archaeological site of the same name. The site was a major Panhellenic sanctuary, Panhellenic religious sanctuary of ancient Greece, where the ancient Olympic Games were held every Olympiad, four years throughout classical antiquity, from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. They were Olympic Games, restored on a global basis in 1894 in honor of the ideal of peaceful international contention for excellence. Mount Erymanthos (, Latin: ''Erymanthus'') overall is an irregular massif of peaks connected by ridges embedded in the mountains located in the north of the Peloponnese, Greece. Erymanthos is on the west side. Agrampela, Achaea
Agrampela (, before 1928: Πορετζού - ''Poretzou'') is a village and a community in the municipal unit of Aroania, Achaea, Greece. The community includes the village Platanitsa. It is situated in the southern foothills of the Mount Erymanthos. It is 2 km northwest of Plaka, Achaea, Plaka, 8 km east of Kalentzi and 26 km southwest of Kalavryta. Population History In the 1700 Venetian census, the village had 29 families. The village was known as Poretzou (Πορετζού) until 1928. Its inhabitants were known as Poretsanos, which became a surname for several people. Together with Platanitsa, it was a municipal district of Lampeia until 1912, when it became an independent community. The community was transferred from the Elis Prefecture to Achaea in 1974. Antroni
Antroni () is a mountain village and a community in the municipal unit of Lasiona, Elis, Olympia, Greece. The community consists of the villages Antroni, Panopoulo, Zachareika and Chania Spartoulia. Antroni is situated near the Foloi oak forest, on a small plateau between deep and narrow river valleys. It is 1 km north of Foloi, 10 km southwest of Lampeia and 19 km northeast of Olympia. The Greek National Road 33 (Patras - Tripoli) runs through Panopoulo and Chania Spartoulia. According to Greek mythology Heracles used a net to catch the Erymanthian Boar in a gorge near Antroni. Antroni was part of the municipality of Lampeia between the 1830s and 1912. It was an independent community until the 1998, when it joined the new municipality of Lasiona.
