Kowloon Tong Station
Kowloon Tong is a station on MTR's and in New Kowloon, Hong Kong. The station serves Kowloon Tong and its vicinity, including Yau Yat Tsuen, the Festival Walk shopping centre, City University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Baptist University. The station straddles the boundary between Kowloon City District and Sham Shui Po District. This station serves as one of four interchange stations for the , leading up to the New Territories and entry point to mainland China. Therefore, it is one of the busiest stations in the system. Kowloon Tong () is an area of Hong Kong located in Kowloon. The majority of the area is in the Kowloon City District. Its exaclocationis south of the Lion Rock, north of Boundary Street, east of the East Rail line and west of Grampian Road. It is one of the most expensive residential districts in Hong Kong. MTR Metro Cammell EMU (DC)
The Metro-Cammell EMU (also known as M-Train or Modernisation Train, ) is the oldest type of electric multiple unit that operates on the MTR rapid transit railway system in Hong Kong. MTR–KCR Merger
On 2 December 2007, the two major railway companies in Hong Kong, the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation, which operated the Kowloon-Canton Railway, and the MTR Corporation, which operated the MTR, merged their operations. Background There had already been some discussion of merging the KCR, which was also government-owned, and the MTR to make the territory's transport system more efficient.
