Parliamentary elections were held in Kosovo on 24 October 2004 during the United Nations Interim Administration. The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) remained the largest party, winning 47 of the 120 seats. A coalition government was formed by the LDK and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), with the AAK's leader Ramush Haradinaj becoming Prime Minister. The United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (; sr-Cyrl-Latn, Привремена административна мисија Уједињених нација на Косову, Privremena administrativna misija Ujedinjenih nacija na Kosovu; UNMIK) is the officially mandated mission of the United Nations in Kosovo. The UNMIK describes its mandate as being to "help the United Nations Security Council achieve an overall objective, namely, to ensure conditions for a peaceful and normal life for all inhabitants of Kosovo and advance regional stability in the Western Balkans." The UNMIK was established pursuant to Security Council Resolution 1244, which was passed on 10 June 1999. The Social Democratic Party of Kosovo (, PSD) is a political party in Kosovo. It was established on 10 February 1990 by Kaqusha Jashari, and was the second political party to be established in the newly pluralist Kosovo. Leadership The current leader of the party is Dardan Molliqaj. He was chosen at the party's meeting on 15 December 2019. The Party of Democratic Action (; abbr. SDA) is a Bosniak nationalist and conservative political party in Bosnia and Herzegovina. History The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) was founded on 26 May 1990 in Sarajevo, as a "party of Muslim cultural-historic circle". It was a realisation of Alija Izetbegović's idea of an Islamic religious and national party in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The New Democratic Initiative of Kosovo (, IRDK) is a political party in Kosovo registered on 19 July 2001. It represents the Balkan Egyptian ethnic minority. Its current leader is Elbert Krasniqi, who serves as minister of local government administration in the Republic of Kosovo's coalition government. Liberal Party Of Kosovo
The Liberal Party of Kosovo () is a liberal political party in the Republic of Kosovo. The party is an observer member of the Liberal International and a member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party. In the 2004 parliamentary election, the party won 0.5% of the popular vote and 1 out of 190 seats in the Assembly of Kosovo. However, in the 2007 parliamentary election, it failed to pass the election threshold of 5%, thus becoming a non-parliamentary party. Like all other Kosovo Albanian political parties, the party supports Kosovo independence and does not take part in the general elections in Serbia nor any other election or referendum organised by the Serbian parliament. The People's Movement of Kosovo () was a political party in Kosovo active after the Kosovo War, having originally been founded as a political movement of Albanian nationalists in 1982. Despite participating in several elections in autonomous Kosovo, its pre-war existence was its most historically significant period. Historically, its support and membership came from Albanian diaspora, especially within Switzerland and Germany, originating mainly from former Yugoslav republics. Ideology The LPK was formed in the early 1980s, during the turmoil which would bring the Albanian population of Yugoslavia to wider attention. Justice Party (Kosovo)
The Justice Party () is a centre-right conservative political party in Kosovo. In the 2004 parliamentary election, the party won 1.0% of the popular vote and 1 out of 120 seats. The party participated in the 2010 parliamentary election in a coalition with the New Kosovo Alliance. After the resignation of Behgjet Pacolli, the party had 3 out of 120 seats. The Justice Party, like all other Kosovo Albanian parties, supports Kosovo independence and does not participate in any election or referendum organised by the Serbian government. The Turkish Democratic Party of Kosovo (, ) is a political party in Kosovo that represents the Turkish minority. It is led by Mahir Yağcılar, the Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning in the Thaçi-led government.
