Koray Avcı (musician)
Koray Avcı (born 1 January 1990) is a Turkish singer. Life and career Koray Avcı was born in Ankara to a family that were originally from Tercan. His father died in 2021 from heart and kidney failure. In 2008, he was enrolled in Muğla University School of Arts and Sciences to study physics. In 2010 and while still studying in Muğla, he took part in ''Yetenek Sizsiniz Türkiye'', where he famously imitated Volkan Konak and got to the second round. Upon his graduation in 2012, he returned to Ankara and started performing music on the streets. In the same year, he rose to prominence after a video of him singing at a metro station was shared on the social media. He released his first studio album ''Aşk İle'' in 2015, which topped the sales charts in Turkey. Volkan Konak
Volkan Konak (27 February 1967 – 31 March 2025) was a Turkish folk singer from the eastern Black Sea. His song "Cerrahpaşa" was a great success and his album, ''Mora'', released in 2006, was awarded a gold plaque by the Turkish recording producers association, MÜ-YAP. Early life Konak was born in 1967 in the village of Yeşilyurt in the Maçka district of Trabzon. After completing his primary, secondary and high school education in Maçka, he entered the Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory in 1983 with the encouragement of his teacher. He graduated from the conservatory in 1988 and started his master's degree in Social Sciences on folk music at Istanbul Technical University in the same year. Alevi Singers
Alevism (; ; ) is a syncretic heterodox Islamic tradition, whose adherents follow the mystical Islamic teachings of Haji Bektash Veli, who taught the teachings of the Twelve Imams, whilst incorporating some traditions from shamanism. Differing from Sunni Islam and Usuli Twelver Shia Islam, Alevis have no binding religious dogmas, and teachings are passed on by a ''dede'' "spiritual leader" as with Sufi orders. They acknowledge the six articles of faith of Islam, but may differ regarding their interpretation.
