Shalimar railway station (SHM) is a Railway Terminus located in Shibpur, Howrah of West Bengal. It is one of five large intercity railway stations serving the Kolkata metropolitan region, India. The other stations are Sealdah, Howrah, Kolkata and Santragachi Junction. Shalimar station is situated on the western bank of Hooghly River. The Indian locomotive class WAP-7 is a class of 25 kV AC electric locomotives that was developed in 1999 by Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) for Indian Railways.
