Knattspyrnufélagið Hlíðarendi (, ), commonly known as KH, is a football club, based in Reykjavík, Iceland. It plays its home games at Hlíðarendi. It fields both men's and women's team and is affiliated with Knattspyrnufélagið Valur. Men's football KH men's football team debuted in the Icelandic tournament and the Icelandic Cup in 2011. In 2017, it was promoted to the 3. deild karla after beating Kórdrengir in the promotion playoffs. In 2019, Hallgrímur Dan Daníelsson and Birkir Már Sævarsson were hired as managers of the team. Valsvöllur ( or more precisely 'Valur Stadium'), also known as Hlíðarendi (; named after the street with the same name, which means " slope's end") and formerly Vodafonevöllurinn ( or 'Vodafone Stadium'), is a multi-purpose stadium in Reykjavík, Iceland. It is the home-court of Valur's football, basketball and handball teams. The football stadium holds 2,465 people, including 1,201 in seats. The indoor court holds 1,300 people in seats. The stadium broke ground in 2004 and the indoor stadium was formally opened on 7 September 2007 while the outdoor football stadium was formally opened on 25 May 2008. Ásta Árnadóttir (born 9 June 1983) is an Icelandic footballer who plays the position of defender. Ásta was part of Iceland's national team and was a member of the squad at UEFA Women's Euro 2009. Ásta has played for Tyresö FF in Sweden. She returned to Iceland to Valur in December 2009 but was undecided on whether she would play any more football. The Valur women's football team, commonly known as Valur, is the women's football department of the Valur multi-sport club. It is based in Reykjavík, Iceland, and currently plays in the Besta deild kvenna, the top-tier women's football league in Iceland. The team plays its home games at Hlíðarendi located in Reykjavík. Sigurbjörn Örn Hreiðarsson (born 25 November 1975) is a retired Icelandic football midfielder. He retired as Valur's leader in most games played in the Icelandic top-tier Úrvalsdeild karla. He played for Trelleborgs FF from 2000 to 2001. Early life Sigurbjörn was born in Reykjavík, Iceland, but moved to Dalvík when he was 8 years old. Birkir Már Sævarsson (born 11 November 1984) is an Icelandic professional footballer who plays as a defender for Nacka. Club career Valur Birkir started his professional career with local team Valur in the Úrvalsdeild, where he made his senior debut in 2003.
