Kirsty Wade
Kirsty Margaret Wade (née McDermott, born 6 August 1962) is a British and Welsh former middle-distance runner. She is a three-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist, winning the 800 metres in Brisbane 1982 and both the 800 metres and 1500 metres in Edinburgh 1986. She represented Great Britain at the 1988 Olympic Games and the 1992 Olympic Games. Early life McDermott was born in Girvan, Scotland, moved to Llandrindod Wells, Wales aged three and attended school there. While attending Llandrindod High School, Wade was encouraged by her PE teacher to join Brecon Athletic Club. Athletics career After joining Brecon Athletic Club as an 11-year-old, Mcdermott trained in the Elan Valley and won the 1976 AAAs National under-15 800m title in 2:11.10 and the 1977 AAAs U17 title in 2:07.74. Lynn Kanuka-Williams
Lynn Kanuka-Williams ( Kanuka; born July 11, 1960) is a Canadian athlete from Regina, Saskatchewan. She competed in 3000m races, as well as a smaller number of 1500m races. She competed for Canada at the 1984 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles, U.S. in the 3,000 metres where she won the bronze medal (in the race notable for the incident between Mary Decker and Zola Budd). Debbie Bowker
Deborah Dawn "Debbie" Scott-Bowker (born 16 December 1958) is a Canadian former middle- and long-distance runner. A three-time Olympian for Canada (1984, 1988 and 1992), she reached the 1500 m final in 1984, and both the 1500 m and 3000 m finals in 1988. She was also a three-time World Championship finalist, reaching the 1500 m and 3000 m finals in 1987, and the 1500 m final in 1991. Her greatest international performance came at the 1985 IAAF World Indoor Games (the precursor of the IAAF World Indoor Championships), where she took the gold medal in the 3000 metres. Lorraine Baker, married name Strain (born 9 April 1964) is an English former middle-distance runner who competed in the 800 metres. She represented Great Britain at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 1984 and Barcelona 1992. In Los Angeles, she finished fifth in the final. She also won bronze medals at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh and the 1990 European Indoor Championships in Glasgow. Diane Dolores Modahl (née Edwards, born 17 June 1966) is an English former middle-distance runner who specialised in the 800 metres.
