Stephen Kipkorir
Stephen Arusei Kipkorir (24 October 1970 – 8 February 2008) was a Kenyan middle distance runner, best known for winning a bronze medal in 1500 metres at the 1996 Summer Olympics. His running career began on 23 March 1996, when he finished fourteenth at the World Cross Championships held in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Dr. Gabriele Rosa noticed him and convinced him to run the 1500 metres. Five months later he won the Olympic bronze medal. His personal best time in the 1500 metres was 3:31.87 minutes, achieved in July 1996 in Lausanne. His last international competition took place in 2001. After his brief athletic career he became a professional soldier. He also owned a farm near Sugoi, an area close to Eldoret in which were living other athletes: Moses Tanui, Joyce Chepchumba and her husband Aron, and David Kiptoo. William Kipkorir (1967 – 15 February 2025) was a Kenyan politician. He belonged to the United Democratic Alliance party and was elected to represent the Baringo County in the Senate of Kenya from the 2022 General election onwards. He managed to win against Gideon Moi Gideon Kipsielei Towett Moi (born 22 October 1963) is a Kenyan politician and former senator of Baringo County, from 2013 to 2022. Jonathan Kosgei Kipkorir (born 29 December 1982) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who competes in road running competitions, including marathons. He is a two-time winner of the Venice Marathon, with consecutive wins in 2006 and 2007, and won the 2010 Beppu-Ōita Marathon. He also competes over the half marathon and has wins from the Rome-Ostia Half Marathon and Porto Half Marathon. His personal best in the marathon is 2:07:31 while he has run 1:00:19 for the half marathon distance. Robert Kiptoo Kipkorir is a Kenyan politician. He was third Marakwet East. He served for two terms spanning for ten years in parliament; 1983–1992. He initiated several projects in the grassroots including schools owing to his background as a school head before joining politics. He joined parliament on his first attempt, and is commonly referred to by Marakwets as Hon. Kasertich the name of his father. Daniel Kipkorir Chepyegon (born 1 June 1986) is a Ugandan professional marathon runner. He was eighth at the Nairobi Marathon recording a time of 2:14:54. He gained selection for the men's marathon at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics and was the only Ugandan to finish the race in Berlin, completing the course in 2:17:47 for 31st place. He recorded a time of 2:17:07 for fourth place at the 2010 Kuala Lumpur Marathon. He ran at the 2010 Frankfurt Marathon and significantly improved his personal best time to 2:08:24, finishing in fifth place. Mbarak Kipkorir Hussein (born 4 April 1965) is a Kenyan athlete who specialises in long distance running, including the marathon. He was initially a specialist in the 3000 metres steeplechase and was the 2002 World Junior Champion in the event.
