King Mindaugas Cup
Karaliaus Mindaugo taurė (English: King Mindaugas Cup) is an annual national domestic basketball cup competition between Lithuanian professional teams. It is organised by the Lithuanian Basketball League (Lietuvos krepšinio lyga – LKL). The tournament is named in honor of Mindaugas, the first and only King of Lithuania. The Final four event includes an annual LKL Three-point Shootout contest, LKL Future Cup was introduced in 2018 with Žalgiris and Rytas youth teams competing for the cup. LKL Slam Dunk Contest was part of the Final four program until the event was removed in 2019. History and format The new tournament was presented to public on 1 December 2015, to replace the LKF Cup and the LKL All-Star Day. Basketball Club Žalgiris () commonly known as BC Žalgiris, is a professional basketball club based in Kaunas, Lithuania. Siemens Arena
Twinsbet Arena, located in the southern part of Verkiai elderate of Vilnius, is the largest arena in Vilnius and second largest in Lithuania. It generally hosts basketball games as well as concerts. The arena opened on 30 October 2004. Basketball club Rytas Vilnius has played all of their most important matches in this arena since 2004. The Karaliaus Mindaugo taurė MVP () is an Lithuanian Basketball League awards, award that is annually handed out to the most valuable player, in a given tournament, of the Karaliaus Mindaugo taurė professional basketball Lithuanian national domestic cup competition. The award was introduced when the competition was first held, in 2016. Antanas Kavaliauskas was the inaugural winner of the award. Since 2016, only two players have won the award more than once: Edgaras Ulanovas (4-time winner) and Joffrey Lauvergne (2-time winner). The current holder of the award is Ignas Brazdeikis. Edgaras Ulanovas (born January 7, 1992) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player and the team captain for Žalgiris Kaunas of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) and the EuroLeague. Professional career On 25 April 2014, Ulanovas was named the Co- VTB United League Young Player of the Year, along with Dmitry Kulagin. In 2017, he was named the MVP of the 2017 King Mindaugas Cup, and also the MVP of the 2017 LKL Finals. In 2019, Ulanovas was named the LKL Finals MVP for a second time in his career. In 2020, Ulanovas was named MVP of the 2020 King Mindaugas Cup. On 9 July 2020, Ulanovas transferred to the Turkish EuroLeague powerhouse Fenerbahçe, after a full decade with Žalgiris. BC Šiauliai () is the professional basketball club of Šiauliai, Lithuania. The club competes in the Lithuanian Basketball League.
